it's been quiet 'round here for all the usual reasons ((side-eyes societal collapse)) but also because I'm making a graphic novel and attending school full-time and making enough soup every Monday to feed 20 hungry art school students and also doing a lot of this🧶
Illustrators beware! Follow up from that comic about receiving an email with the whole 'illustrators needed!' plea but was sent to a bunch of different artists in the same email, the guy reached out to me individually with this fake pitch. (Not even worth mentioning the name they went by bc there are probably hundreds/thousands of profiles using this same scam setup)
It's a fake check scam where they send you a fake check, often in excess of what you agreed on, then they plead for you to send them back the difference. If you deposit it, the check bounces weeks to months later you're in the hole for whatever the check was made out for, plus anything you sent back to them.
In case there was any doubt….

A LOT has happened in the past 24 hrs (most significantly my scanner died which ground everything to a halt (got a new one tho! it was going to have to happen eventually)) so I'm feeling a little^
