Quick word about DJenks tweeting the song "Candle in the Wind" (famously about someone dead before their prime) - there's no reason to think that DJenks would be teasing bad things. When we first got the news of the cancelation, it came with a prompt and thorough post letting us down easy. DJenks has shown nothing but love for this fandom and the renewal campaign - if he wanted us to stop, he would've said that, and he didn't.

Instead, he used a song that he's tweeted before about Lucius, pretending to mourn a dead character when we all knew he wasn't actually dead. Not saying it's anything, but it's not nothing. There's no reason to think that a creator, especially one who seems to care about the show and its fans as much as DJenks does, would try to tease bad news.

We're alright. He tweeted one song that he's used in connection with the show before and some emojis. He did not say anything of substance. No need to panic.

Our Flag Means Death’s season-two finale has it all. There’s a declaration of true love between our favorite criminals, Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) and Ed, a.k.a. Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). There’s also a heartbreaking death (RIP, Con O’Neill’s Izzy Hands), a pirate wedding that ends with the words “You are now officially mateys,” and some big-time fight scenes. “Mermen” packs a tight punch in only 30 minutes. The episode is both thrilling and satisfying, so even if Max makes the grave mistake of not renewing the series, fans will feel closure in a way that they didn’t with season one’s sendoff. And Our Flag Means Death creator David Jenkins already has some fun ideas brewing for a third season (and beyond!). The A.V. Club spoke to Jenkins about his plans to evolve Ed and Stede’s relationship, potential spin-offs, and how everyone on the show is handling its passionate fanbase.

*laughs nervously* Izzy? Dead and gone for good? Naaaah, of course not, he’s just in the gravy basket…or on his way to get sea witch necromancied back by seagull Buttons. He’s ok, he’ll be back…he’ll totally be back 🥲.

Yeah!!! S3 trailer by @cliopadra !!🤣 so glad to see their art again!!

Dunno if this helps, but...

established in-universe logic of the show allows for izzy didn't die truthing and here's why. he got shot on his left side. "science tells us that all the useful organs are on the right part of the body." so you take a sword on the left, no harm no foul. bullet wounds are different to sword wounds? izzy already survived a bullet to the leg, the rotting of said leg, and a grim field amputation. ed described him as an "indestructible little fucker." immediately following this ed survived being beaten to death with a CANNONBALL but izzy gets taken down by one measly bullet? sorry djenks you're gonna have to try harder if you want me to believe he's dead for realsies <3

I STAY WINNING x
