Sherlock just like to knit. It is pretty evident if you watch the show.

AU where everything is the same but Sherlock knits. His famous blue scarf is a WIP trailing threads that are attached to a ball of yarn in his pocket.
He knits whilst he’s deducing (helps him to think) and John holds the ball of yarn
