BLACK SAILS (2014 - 2017)
Louise Barnes as MIRANDA BARLOW BLACK SAILS 2.05 | XIII
Some doodles including that mage AU I was thinking about (Silver as sorcerer and Flint as wizard... um I might take inspirations from DA mage designs....)
on a related note to eleanors relationship with max. and how eleanor just ignores the ways max being black and a sex worker affects their dynamic. The fact that when anne falls for max, that power imbalance is the FIRST thing she realizes after she kills hamund and co, and it repulses her on such a deep level that she pushes max away on purpose without even fully knowing why shes doing it. The Contrast. The Juxtaposition. The Lesnians
well whaddaya know, it continues.

One of my favorite Black Sails moments is when Jack Rackham goes to Skeleton Island fully intending to kill Flint and then when he gets there he sees the Walrus burning and the governor escaping and he’s like “Fuck it. Flint get on my ship let’s kill this guy.”
eleanor putting flint, who worked with her as a team bc they had a shared vision for nassau; charles, whom despite his many flaws was always brutally honest with her, and loved her; mr. scott, whom worked behind her back to protect his loved ones (an understandable reason that has nothing to do with eleanor herself), on the same tier as her shitty dad when she says "too many goddamn men here" is just so. idk. tragic? like way to summarize your character thesis my beloved lean-in feminist with a severe victim complex ):
quick max study

a deleted scene from season two
down with found family. UP with FOUND DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
getting many questions about FOUND DIVORCE. FOUND DIVORCE is when TWO PEOPLE who were NOT EVEN MARRIED are already DIVORCED. thank you.
I love how much of the tension in the naval battles in Black Sails comes from the fact that it took ships back then like half an hour to change direction
[image description: six still screen captures from episode 4.10 of Black Sails. The first image is Jack Rackham’s final jolly roger flag, with text laid over it that says “someone will remember us”. The second image is Flint and Thomas holding the back of each other’s necks in the plantation field reunion scene. The third image is Jack Rackham leaning on railing aboard ship in his final scene in the episode, looking thoughtfully into the distance, with text laid over it that says “I say,”. The fourth image is Max looking beneficently down from the upper level in the tavern. The fifth image is a wide shot of Madi and Silver looking at each other across a distance overlooking the ocean on Maroon Island. The final, sixth image shows Mrs. Hudson reading A General History of The Pyrates to her children, with text laid over it that says, “even in another time”. /end description]
