Sam Winchester’s backstory is like a laundry list of allegorical queerness. “I’m different & I get bullied in school & I sometimes feel guilty for existing as an ‘abomination’ & I’ve felt like a freak all my life and I literally cannot wait to get away from my family & go live my own life & be true to myself.” Whether or not he ever has non-straight romance on the show, he’s a character I identify with because of these things.

He wanted to see him– more than anything he wanted things to go back to the way they were, before it was complicated– but he couldn’t imagine how Brady must have felt after he left him that night. Heartbroken? Angry? What if Brady wanted nothing to do with him?
It was better to leave it a mystery than to risk the worst possible outcome becoming the truth.

Sam fumbles with the keys to the apartment, touching his forehead hesitantly with his other hand, and winces, regretting it instantly. He manages to get the door open, only to realize that the kitchen light is on and the toilet is flushing. He should be rushing to his room so that Brady doesn’t see him like this, but he feels a little bit frozen in anxious panic and he only starts moving once the sink is shut off and the door is opening.
“Hey, Sam.” Brady smiles, and Sam lets out a soft sigh of relief. He’s standing by the living room and it’s pretty dim with just the light from the kitchen, so maybe Brady won’t even notice and he’ll just be able to slip into his room.
“H-hey, Brady. Thought you would still be in class?” Sam’s voice cracks a little and he can’t believe he’s acting this awkward. He knows how to lie and he really need to chill the fuck out before he ends up having to tell Brady why his head is banged up.
“Mm, prof let out a little earlier today. Just got back. Ordered pizza, so if you’re hungry, that’ll be here in like ten minutes or so— Sam, are you bleeding?” Brady’s face instantly goes from casual if not tired to concern as he walks closer to Sam and turns on the hall light, only to flip it off when Sam winces at the sudden brightness. “What the fuck happened?”
Sam laughs nervously, his hand going back to his temple. As far as he can tell, there’s only a small trickle of blood running down the side of his face, so it’s really not that bad. He’s had a lot worse. “It’s fine. I’m fine. Doesn’t matter how it happened!” His voice actually legitimately almost squeaks, like he’s fucking going through puberty, or hell, just starting HRT again. This is not cool. This fucking sucks and Sam just really wants to hide in his room.

Who's Brady? My friend and I were discussing about Sam's sexuality and she mentioned him. Now I'm seeing his name in most of those open discussions. I'm not sure to remember very well...
The short version is: he’s a dude who went to college with Sam and introduced him to Jess - he was also possessed by a demon and ended up being the one who killed Jess (making it look like Azazel did it). He’s killed by Sam in 5.20, in which he finds out Brady got possessed after they’d already known each other.
The reason he comes up in discussions about Sam’s sexuality is because Crowley tells Dean that “they have history” in 5.20 - he probably meant that they knew each other, but it’s an interesting wording - and refers to Brady as “your demon lover” when speaking to Sam in 5.21, who doesn’t… react to that wording at all. With anything.
So a lot of people took at as jumping point to headcanon they had a relationship before Brady got possessed (or maybe even while he was), and it’s one of the ongoing things with Sam where he doesn’t deny when someone implies he’s involved with a man.
(Off topic, but another great example of that is the “Go ask your boyfriend” - “Cas can’t help me” exchange between Balthazar and Soulless!Sam. Both 5.21 and 6.11 were written by Sera, which may or may not be a coincidence. So, in fact, was 4.09, which featured Sam’s male crossroad’s demon, and 2.03, in which Sam may or may not be kind of flirty with a male bartender, but I digress.)
I hope that cleared things up a little bit!
We also know Sam’s love interests have been possessed/demons before, including Ruby and Sam’s prom date, Rachel.
And speaking of Sera Gamble’s episodes, there is a very thought-provoking reading of the theme of Sam not feeling clean his entire life due to the demon blood and the s4 addict!Sam arc in particular as a metaphor for alienation and queerness that can be found HERE.
