I don’t get why people are calling Sam selfish or not wanting to be considerate of Dean.
Those were separate desires from Dean, probably some were related to Dean, but those were things that Sam saw other people have, and he looked at his own life and saw just how much he was missing out on. For Sam, heaven was sitting down at a regular table and enjoying a meal, not eating convenience store food from the microwave.
Like, how can one look at Sam and call him selfish for wanting these things? People are understanding of Dean’s struggles with his childhood, but you can’t be for Sam? Look at how the kid grew up, it’s normal for wanting things you can’t have or never had, and want them.
Why are you calling a child who has grown up in a broken family in an impossible situation all his life, desiring to get away from that and its unsatisfying ways selfish and self-centered? He wanted away from the abusive and neglectful setting, and you have the audacity to call a child like that selfish? He is trying to improve his life, but oh, he was selfish and turned his back on his family, it doesn’t matter what the situation is.
If that’s how you’re gonna view a child who has grown up in that type of setting and wanting better for themselves, you really should stay away from them.
