will never be over how when sonic and caliburn are at molten mine and they're surrounded by a sea of lava and caliburn tells him they could literally die if they fall and sonic says "I KNOW ISN'T IT GREAT?!"
yeah that checks out
Sonic after seeing a volcano in 06’s Flame Core:
I was wondering how Silver could look so clean despite living in Crisis City. Maybe that aura keeps him clean? Is that one of his powers?
and then I realized something.
Silver can control things on a molecular level.
Silver's Shield of Light lets him bend literal light. That is photons, Subatomic Particles that he can manipulate with his powers.
So if Silver can clean himself with his powers on a molecular level then he might actually be the single cleanest living thing on earth despite living in the dirtiest environment.
What are your thoughts on Amy's "If I had to choose between the world and Sonic, I'd choose Sonic" line from Sonic 06?
I think she mean’t it in the sense that she’d stand by him if the world accused him of destroying it because she believes that Sonic would never have done so knowingly if he did indeed destroy the world.
It shows the faith she has in him.
Her detractors tend to twist that quote to make Amy look like a selfish bitch, that she thinks one person has more worth than the majority when I really don’t think that is what’s being stated by that quote.
The moment when Sonic catches Elise, thanks her and hugs her after being revived 🥺😭💙
I love this moment so much it's so sweet 💙🤍
The way Sonic pulls Elise closer in his arms, and he sounds so heartfelt when he thanks her. He was deeply touched by her reviving him.
Possible Silver/Echidna/Ancient connections
In Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood there is another tribe of echidnas called the Nocturnus Clan. The Nocturnus Clan was incredibly technologically advanced and nearly conquered the world thousands of years ago before they were trapped in another dimension with powerful alien races by an entity called the Argus.
This game and the stuff in it is considered non-canon now due to legal issues that we are definitely not here to talk about but it was canon when it came out and different echidna tribes are referenced in Sonic Frontiers. The ancient portal technology in that game is also similar to the gear themed technology used by the Nocturnus Clan. So there's hope of Nocturnus or a rewritten version of them still being canon. Silver has many similarities to the Nocturnus clan and their creations.
Silver is visually similar to Imperator Ix, the leader of the Nocturnus Clan (Especially the cuffs which are similar to Silver's)
The patterns on Silver's gloves and cuffs are also similar to the ones in Nocturne and the Cyberspace Portals in Sonic Frontiers.
The convex patterns on Silver's cuffs can be found throughout Nocturne.
Silver's front quills have a similar structure to the head crests of the Gizoids created by the Nocturnus Clan.
The big quills on the back of Silver's head are similar to the tentacles that Chaos and The Ancients have on the back of their heads.
Silver's big quills seem to have blood vessels? He puts bandages on them in Sonic Channel artwork and gets blood stains on them in IDW. Maybe they are tentacles?
Sonic Team has foreshadowed connections with visual similarities before. In Shadow The Hedgehog before you find out that Shadow is part Black Arms you can see throughout the game that the Black Arms have red patterns like Shadow and in Sonic Unleashed before you find out that the Werehog is a portion of Dark Gaia you can see that Dark Gaia monsters have the same stretchy arms and attack patterns as the Werehog.
One of the alien races trapped in Twilight Cage with the Nocturnus Clan in Sonic Chronicles called the Voxai has psychic powers like Silver. They have the psychic ability to fly like Silver and control minds.
One of the leaders of the Voxai named Leucosia has the same colors as Silver's powers and patterns similar to Silver's PK Marks.
The only named place in Silver's (good) future that we've seen is Onyx Island in Sonic Rivals. Onyx Island is actually the future version of Angel Island which is the home of the Knuckles Clan, The Master Emerald and Sky Sanctuary. Sky Sanctuary also has advanced ancient technology and patterns similar to the ones on Silver's gear.
We don't know how connected to Onyx Island Silver is but it is the first place we see him after the reset in 06.
This could just be because of his powers but Silver is very upper body oriented. He never kicks like Sonic and Shadow do. Whenever Silver does get physical he always punches things which makes his fighting style more similar to Knuckles and the echidnas than his fellow hedgehogs.
Cyber Sonic's eyes are similar to the eyes Silver has in concept art.

"If the world chooses to become my enemy, then I'll ____" (wrong answers only)
🦔🖤
What's Shadow's walk like? He has two walking gaits, one where he's a man on a mission but is articulate in his movement. The second is a calmer gait. He's stiff and rigid but his movements can be elegant. He doesn't bob about like Sonic does.
As for Sonic's, by swagger, it can be an arrogant gait. We know Sonic is arrogant in his abilities but not really his personality.
SonElise Week Day 2: Hobbies
Sonic and Elise are both bookworms and love to read together.
Sometimes, when he's feeling tired, Sonic also enjoys listening to Elise read while he rests. He finds it very relaxing.
When he's too tired to read his book, his gf can read it for him instead 💙🤍
Silver the Hedgehog made his debut with an epic story chronicling the Principality* of Soleanna, the city of water, and the "Flames of Disaster!" The psychokinetic action of moving and stopping objects made for a new and fresh experience.
*Alternatively Duchy
Recent Japanese sources, mainly Sonic Channel, have taken to referring to Soleanna as "ソレアナ公国" (Soreana kōkoku), which can either translate to "Principality of Soleanna" or "Duchy of Soleanna." A principality being a state ruled by a prince and/or princess and a duchy being one ruled by a duke and/or duchess.
Since Soleanna has had both a duke and a princess as its sovereign, both translates would be applicable.
Sonic bows to Elise when he first meets her. He's honouring her title as Princess... that's wholesome!
What people dont realize that the scene with amy saying she'd choose sonic over the world, its supposed to mirror the scene when rouge says she'll remain on shadow's side if the world turns against him
yet one scene is praised and the other is criticized
Yep, 100%
I think it stems from Western culture needing a moral story. I speak generally for America from what I've been exposed to, because us Brits care very little about morals and I have no idea the individual stance of each European country. It's a generalised statement, I know! But I watched reviews of games like 06 and Shadow back in the day, and most said the same things.
But I've heard in so many reviews that Sonic games "miss" the morals and good intentions of being a hero, so Amy is seen as a blonde bimbo who likes dating a bad boy abuser. Or that Sonic's advice on if you're worried to run is taken literally.
Where it misses the entire point that these characters are supposed to be realistic. Realistic meaning that people are very morally grey. People will stab others in the back, will believe in their own perception on someone who is seen as jaded. The list is endless. Treat these characters as morally grey, that they do things for their own intention. Don't plaster an expectation that Sonic is automatically the cool, arrogant, hero, Shadow the emo anti hero, Tails the sidekick, Amy the crazy fangirl, Knuckles the moron and Rouge the slut. This isn't the definitions of these characters at all.
Annon-Guy: How about the following Japanese scenes?
- Amy confronts Silver's assassination attempt on Sonic (Sonic 06).
- Shadow The Hedgehog Last Story Ending.
I think I know which one you mean, where the entire franchise freaked out and painted Amy as someone who would fall in love with an abuser. Ah… those were the days of fandumb.
Yes, Amy is 100% right. Why would Sonic ever want to destroy the world? Not only does it go against his right for freedom and leaving well enough alone, unless bad things happen. Plus, it's too much effort.
This is where people don't understand Amy's character... Amy believes in a presence in people that shines brightly when good is exposed from them. She's done it with Gamma and Shadow respectfully. She "senses" Sonic because she has a bond with his soul. She first met him by sensing his presence and seeing he was an overwhelming naturally good soul. If someone tells her Sonic is bad, not only does that destroy her unique powers (sensing and bringing out the good in others), but destroys her outlook in life, too.
She was never "blind" when she mistook Shadow and Silver for Sonic. She saw Sonic's impression on them. It's all magical stuff haha. This is why the Tarot cards suddenly becoming a thing pisses me off. The Tarot cards birthed her powers but she managed to grow and develop away from Tarot card reading, until Frontiers fumbled about with it.
2. Shadow's ending.
It's poetic. He's saying goodbye to his former self and coping into this new reality. It may not be considered a healthy growth, where Shadow chooses to shut people out, but it works for his personal trauma.
Also, he says Adios, which mirrors to Sonic saying adios at the end of SA2 too.
