How does the Turkish ice cream trick work?
The vendor will start a competition between you and him, you can actually touch the cone or even hold it but never take it, every single time the vendor will trick you with a move of him. He will let you think that it's about to fall down, stick it to your nose, and confuse you with his tricks.
Origins: The exact origins of dondurma are not entirely clear, but it is believed to have originated in the Anatolian region of Turkey. Early versions of dondurma likely date back to the Ottoman Empire era, where it was made using traditional methods and ingredients available at the time.
Salep: Salep, a key ingredient in traditional Turkish ice cream, played a significant role in its development. Salep is a flour made from the tubers of the early-purple orchid, which grows in the mountainous regions of Turkey. It was used not only for its flavor but also for its thickening and binding properties, which give dondurma its unique chewy texture.
The main goal is to adopt the Sanders style and convey it throughout the film with extraordinary uniformity and commonality. We’ve done our best in the Cleanup Department to emulate it, to capture its essence, while not being able to duplicate it precisely. - Christine Lawrence-Finney from Lilo & Stitch: Collected Stories from the Film’s Creators.
