It feels like I should feel something more, something like fireworks blasting at the

Inside of my chest, ricocheting off my ribcage a thousand times over till I’m left with bone

Fragments lodged in my lungs and punched through my chest at the thought of my own

Happiness, cause the only joy I ever seem to take these days is a perverse pleasure in

Watching my life fall apart, watching my body move like a puppet to wallow in the shattered pieces 

Of who I could have been if anyone had bothered to give me a chance, won’t you save me one last dance 

An ode to the person that I could have been if I had directed my frustrations outward instead of in

Making me just another fucked up rich kid, no different than the rest

And she’s waltzing across the platforms of the concrete beach, like she’s trying to make

Her way over to me, dancing in the ruins of what never could have been

Like a puppet on a string, we’re both puppets and it stings

Cause I can’t speak for myself but I know that she deserves better than this
