In this story King Viserys' second son is not his son - but instead the outcome of his wife's lust for the Rogue Prince. Aemond Targaryen never found his right place at court until he found out who he really was and became what he detested the most; a bastard.

“I dreamt you were here.” Daeron’s voice was sleepish as his eyes looked lazily through the darkness, “I dreamt you were dead.”

Trembling, Aemond let himself fall onto his brother’s chest. But I am dead.

Daeron did not hear, “Promise me you will not leave me.”

“I never will.” Aemond wanted to hold him in his arms one last time as Daeron sacked to the ground.

Trapped in an unhappy marriage with a husband that did not desire her physically, the young princess found solace in Harwin Strong. The knight was appointed her sword shield after her former fell out of her favour and thus followed Rhaenyra to Dragonstone. According to rumours, the princess’ first three sons were all fathered by Harwin instead of her husband, who was believed to favour men to women. Jacaerys, Lucaerys and Joffrey all were brown of hair and eyes, with a pug nose similar to Ser Harwin, instead of the typical Valyrian features of both Rhaenyra and Laenor Velaryon.

Was the sixth Targaryen king to sit the Iron Throne, succeeding his father, Viserys I Targaryen, as Lord of the Seven Kingdoms. His ascent was disputed by his older half-sister, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who had been their father's designated heir.  His dragon was Sunfyre, also known as "the Golden". During the Dance, Aegon took a three-headed golden dragon for his personal sigil instead of the red three-headed Targaryen dragon, indicating his mount. Aegon's supporters used his personal heraldry as their battle-flag.

Precocious at fifteen and clever and lovely at the age of eighteen. Became the second wife to King Viserys I Targaryen. She was the mother of King Aegon II, Queen Helaena, Princes Aemond and Daeron Targaryen.

Laenor was known to have a lack of interest in women, instead preferring to surround himself with handsome young men of his own age. 

In 89 AC, Rhaenys joined King Jaehaerys I Targaryen for part of his royal progress. She flew on her dragon Meleys to Highgarden to meet up with Jaehaerys, and together they flew to all four of the Shield Islands. On Greenshield she informed the king about her intention to marry Lord Corlys Velaryon, and received her grandfather's blessing. Rhaenys married Corlys in 90 AC at the age of sixteen. She insisted on arriving at the wedding on the back of Meleys.

At birth, Aemond was said to be half the size his older brother, Aegon, had been, though he was twice as fierce. At the age of ten, Aemond lost his right eye during a fight with his nephew. He was later known to put a sapphire in place of the missing eye. As a child, Aemond was bold, wild, willful, hot-tempered and unforgiving, and grew to be a proficient and dangerous swordsman. Like his siblings, Aemond was a dragonrider, and rode the dragon Vhagar.

A handsome boy, Daeron was the most popular of the three sons of King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower. He was courteous and clever, and was described as “the gentlest” of his brothers. Like his siblings, Daeron was a dragonrider, and he rode the dragon Tessarion. He was declared as Daeron the Daring by Lord Ormund Hightower after saving his cousin in battle and thus knighted on the same eve.

Served as Hand of the King to three kings. Considered a man of great learning in his time, Otto was haughty, blunt, and domineering. He was a methodical man. Otto's daughter Alicent became King Viserys' second wife. Otto is remembered as a warning that knowledge is not everything.

Their name derives from a great tournament held in 111 AC at King’s Landing on the fifth anniversary of the King Viserys I’s marriage to Queen Alicent Hightower, his second wife. At the opening feast, Queen Alicent wore a green gown, whilst Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Viserys’ daughter by his first wife, dressed dramatically in Targaryen red and black. Note was taken, and thereafter their respective factions at the royal court imitated the fashions they set - the queen’s party dressing in green, and the princess’s party dressing in black. In time, it became the custom to refer each party as simply the greens and the blacks.
