Special Agent Ponkan, the little nugget below, works for the PMDverse equivalent of Interpol (currently unnammed lol), dedicated to bringing the biggest and baddest crimes to justice. Local police forces can ask for their help or they can carry out independent missions as their intelligence department sees fit.

Ponkan specializes in criminal arrests, so she's the force the 'coppers' send to apprehend already identified criminals. She's pretty smart on her own, but her speciality is her sheer strength and stamina (if you've played with Ogerpon competitively, you know this little ogre packs a punch).

Currently, in the DOL story, this Interpol is investigating the string of crimes caused by a famous gang led by the wicked Babyface, who is the baddest loan shark of the Sand Continent. His lackeys had been selling poisoned mochis to small towns to brainwash its residents, leaving the town looted and in shambles by the end. Why they're doing this isn't exactly known, but Interpol suspects it may have something to do with bringing back Dark Matter by spreading negativity once more. Other crimes are also being investigated with a similar hypothesis.

For now, Babyface's three enforcers, Pretty Boy, Wise Guy, and Big Fella have been caught and sent to the maximum security penitentiary where only the most heinous criminals end up: The Alabaster Citadel, located at the very tip of the Mist Continent. They'll undergo interrogation and maybe we'll be a little closer to figure out what's going on.

A bonus for you: the Alabaster Citadel is run by its Master Warden, Rimes. He'll show up in the story eventually.

5. whats a pokemon you would like to play as or with?

I think an obvious pick for me would be zorua (have a lil eevee/zorua team going on) but on the offchance we actually get a new pmd game with the dex up to gen 9 (pls) i think some good hero/partner nonstarter picks would be mudbray, rockruff, wooloo, yamper, pawmi and fidough.

6. how do you interpret gengar and gardevoir's relationship post game?

as depressing as it is, I always thought that after saving gardevoir from the curse, gengar truly just lets her go and probably disbands team meanies to move away from pokemon square. Its the last time we see him, but I think he'd consider it giving gardevoir the gift of freedom of having fun as a rescue team without feeling indebted to gengar. After spending all that time under a curse bc of him, I think he'd want her new life to be something completely different, even if that means a life without him. Gengar finally understood the value of Gardevoir's devotion to him, and how much that meant, so I think the most selfless and devoted thing he could do in turn is just swallowing his pride and desires to start again and just let her live as an independent explorer. He'd turn over a new leaf too, and live as an honest explorer somewhere else, or maybe just travel around to find a new purpose.

I do like the idea of gengar and gardevoir starting completely fresh tho. He'd never tell her about her past life but they'd have a far more respectful and equal-sided friendship.

9. what do you ship in the games? just like. in general

HERO X PARTNER FO LIFERSSSS! Across all games, their relationships are just so wholesome and meaningful. I'm not a huge fan of predestination and 'soulmates' but i think the hero/partner connection is so beautiful, and how many times, they have to fight the universe into being together. I like to see them as rewriting fate itself in order to reunite post game, like in GTI and PSMD, where you or your partner has to actively go on a quest to bring the other back. I think its even sweeter if you choose to imagine its always the two same souls being reincarnated over and over again whenever the world is in peril, always great partners and friends who will get the job done bc they just work perfectly together. Platonic or romantic, its just quite lovely. Throughout all of the teams ive made while replaying the games, whether i imagine them as friends or something more, its also just great fun to picture their little conversations, how their personalities mix, and side adventures they go on.

ahem. besides hero x partner, i quite like wigglytuff x chatot for being annoying gay dads, as well as power couple umbreon x espeon. but of course the real otp is team tasty!!

While I haven't introduced the Cara Research Facility gang officially (I haven't written in a while yikes), I can talk about them a bit.

The facility is a scientific research lab founded by the Great Idalia, who was the hero that stopped Dark Matter a hundred years back or so. Aka, shes the PSMD hero!

She opened the lab in honor of her late Pikachu partner Cara (hence the name). In short, Idalia never managed to bring Cara back after dealing with Dark Matter. Because of that, she quit exploring and dedicated herself to scientific pursuits to help others. The exact kind of work she does is unknown, and largely assumed to just be her personal interests, but she also deals in pharmaceuticals.

The research facility is located in the Sand Continent, though a bit secluded, and has a great reputation for providing life-saving medicines that are given freely to locals. Her work is especially appreciated since the Sand Continent is the most isolated continent trade-wise, and imported medicines are expensive and takes a while to arrive. For this and her world-saving legacy as a hero, she's highly respected.

That being said, while she's known for being kind and gentle, she prefers keeping her distance from busy towns. Her research facility has only two assistants, Ivan and Skinner. They're unfriendly and secretive, but loyal to a fault and quite good at their jobs.

interesting question! for my delivery of light duo, i think hei loves a warm glass of moomoo milk before bedtime. and key, being a dark type, loves blended black gummis.

for my explorers of sky team... lily loves strong tasting drinks, especially fruity and sweet ones, because she never had anything like that to drink in the future. james would probably be a huge fan of apple juice
