Based on this post:
Lame character idea: a druid warlock that wild shapes into Ars Goetia demon forms instead of animals. "You're a druid? So cool! Can you turn into a horse?" Sure:
Your name is Gronk. You're a goblin that got suddenly attacked with your crew by the so called adventurers. You're fighting for your life. You see this thing rolling down the hill in high speed.
You're experiencing the horrors.
Also (sorry for two asks) where are you starting?
Wait, is this a Star Wars kinda thing where you're not supposed to start from the beginning or something? (Genuine question)
Uhhhh I don’t want to spoil you??? So without spoiling anything:
But within the fandom these are all considered decent places to start:
- the legend of vox machina animated series
- episode one of the vox machina campaign (only if you’re willing to put up with bad audio, starting in the middle of an arc and a problematic player)
- beginning of the Briarwood arc of the vox machina campaign (start of a new arc without the problematic player and less audio issues)
- episode one of campaign two (this seems most recommended overall! It’s the beginning of a new story and they have it all figured out.)
- episode one of campaign three (c3 does contain spoilers for the first two campaigns, though)
- episode one of critical role abridged (these are shorter edited versions of c3)
I’d recommend starting with C2 or the animated show myself but you do you
Thanks ! 🛐🛐 These are actually very helpful tips. I consider myself to have a certain fluency in English, but if the audio is bad, it starts in the middle and there's a problematic player (you got me curious there btw, why are they problematic?) maybe it's not a very good place to start for me. Does the animated series also begins in the middle or you get more context ? Because if so, maybe I'll just start with the animated series and once I finish I'll go back and watch the first episode of the vox machina campaign.
The animated series does a good job at introducing everything and not sticking you in in the middle. As for the problematic player, we don’t like to talk about him. He was going through shit at the time and had substance abuse issues and made some not great comments about female players and characters and fudged a lot of dice rolls and later made a big stink and tried to claim parts of CR are his IP. And that’s probably not even half but yeahhh. He’s only around for 28 episodes of the original VM campaign.
Wow this is Problematic™. I'll probably start with the animation then, and since I know about the player already I won't feel side blinded

Welcome to critical role! Very excited to see your impressions because that one post you already made is amazing
Thanks! 🫡 I predict I'll become obsessed with it. maybe this might actually save me from artblock. I might even make a side blog.
And about the last post, people really say "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit" and I think that really works for me, highly recommend it. Sometimes I even get lucky and things actually make some sense.
A while ago, i had many people request that i draw dragonsick Thorin. I finished this piece shortly after but always hesitated to post it. I think its probably because im really not used to this style but ive come to terms with it anyway. Honestly dont think i wouldve found the courage to post it if it werent for the amazing folks on discord. A big thank you to @mrkida-art for helping me out with this piece!
• fabulously dressed lavender tiefling ready to slay
• twin(?) elven siblings with long-ass generic pill names. I think archwizard Xanax and magister Ibuprofen are an actual part of their bloodline.
• unhinged little goblin that laughs in the face of gender identity
• that one two-colored half-orc that is tuskless(?) for some reason so I'm assuming Trauma™
• pink-haired Greenpeace firbolg
• that one ginger human wizard (?) that gets shipped with EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER in this damn fandom. Seriously, he gets passed around like a blunt. Also, I've never seen a single fanart of that man where he doesn't look absolutely MISERABLE, so I'm assuming he's some kind of depressed Victorian child.
I love DnD and I'm about to watch Critical Role for the first time after years spent seeing fanart made by the fandom without having any context. This are the characters I know about so far, and I've got no idea if this is the right impression or not. NOBODY CORRECT ME, I have to figure it out on my own. ( Btw I've no idea how many campaign this has or what season each character is from.)
It's been a whole-ass month and I still can't draw again for shit 💀 living the dream, guys.
Guys how do you draw poses ? Like, you just use 3D modeling apps, or randomly search for thousands of image references like I do, or y'all are demigods that just think about the poses and draw them ? This is not rhetorical btw, I really need to know.
heeeeyyy guyyys i need your cooperation for a fun thing
whenever I need to calm down I like to try "counting sheep" but more as trying come up with as many unique sheeps as I can (so like blue sheep, tiny sheep, sheep with really cool shoes)
anyway i thought it would be cool to see what the internet would come up with!! pleaseee make some sheep variations !! you can use this template!
have funnn !!!!
Shane needs his own T.V. spinoff, I'm only saying.
I was looking at your drawings. They’re very nice and I enjoy your art style but when I was looking at your SDV drawings. I realized that sometimes I couldn’t tell the difference between your characters. You may suffer from same face syndrome. 😔 same face different colors. Especially noticeable on your recent post with the three Greek dudes.
Damn, do they have the same face ??? I never really noticed :") I'm not drawing anything at all at the moment cause of art block and stuff, but thanks for pointing that out. Gonna keep an eye on that from now on to make sure I improve! The characters might go through a redesign.
I wonder, have you ever played Hades(game)?
So, there's that 😂 I keep making saves with different difficulty settings and playing it all over again. It's one of my favorite games ever! Atlas's true form is actually based on the gods of the game.
I haven't played "Hades 2" cause it wasn't released for Switch, but I hope it does. Can't wait to meet Nemesis and Odysseus!
Hey friends.
I feel like this past month was worse than the last and I can already tell that October is going to be rough as well. We are still homeless, still looking for a place to stay and regular income, and I am still sick, even after finally getting in to see two doctors this month. We have been burning out mentally and we've been in pain every day now. I need something to work out for us but everything I've tried has fallen through and mutual aid hasn't been coming in enough to help us slow down things getting worse. We haven't had much to eat, bills have been very late, our dog needs more medicine to stay healthy, and I just cannot be without shelter right now with how we've been.
While I recover and try to find a permanent solution to our issues, we really need support. Shelter is about $260 every 3 days lately, Jasper needs to visit the vet asap so he can get his prescription renewed, bills are overwhelming us, toiletries are running out, and we really need access to healthy food so I don't get sicker. Everything is too much, no jobs have been getting back to us, and I just can't handle this all without help. Any aid is appreciated, as are shares.

(Ask for Zelle. Please don't assume a lot of notes means we have our needs met and please, no hate or unsolicited advice. I cannot and will not try to handle it anymore and you will be blocked.)
We could really use help with shelter this weekend and food too. Anything helps.
We really need help covering a hot meal. We've both been feeling awful, and my doctor says I have to be careful with how my diet has been. I'm not getting what my body needs, and it's making me sicker. Also, tomorrow is our last day in this motel, and I could use help covering a new one. It's going to be hard on us enough as is.
We have 24 hours before we will be without shelter. It's been hot, we've been sick, and the two really make things so much worse for both of us. Any help getting into a new place as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated.
20 hours left. We could really use some support today. We don't have food either.
This has been sitting in the back of my head for a while and I finally got around to drawing it. My farmer's name is Hades and I can just see Atlas mistaking him for the actual Hades in a mortal disguise😂
This is absolute gold ! 😂😂 Thank you for drawing my dumb entity, you really captured him (Hades design is gorgeous btw!)
Disguise is the thing I absolutely love about Greek mythology that I kept in my vision of it! Athena appears as either a young human or an old ass man (Atlas actually thought Linus was Athena in disguise for a while). Hermes appears as whatever suits best for his pranks. Demeter usually keeps the same appearance. But you NEVER know what Hades is gonna look like.
