In Defense of The Emperor (or, Ansur Is Not A Victim)

The Emperor is, in my opinion, one of the most underappreciated and misunderstood characters in Baldur's Gate 3, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about reasons why that may be. I honestly think it's tragic because The Emperor is such a compellingly-written character, and I think a lot of that gets lost under the landslide of abject hatred people feel for it.

I have a lot of thoughts about this, so buckle up buttercups! Lots (and lots, and LOTS) more under the cut!

Today and tomorrow ( November 1st and 2nd) are very special days for my country, Mexico, and it is the Day of the Dead!!

In my country we celebrate it by making colourful altars to our deceased by placing their favourite food and things.

Also we make festivals and we usually dress up as catrinas and catrines.

So to make it more special for me....

I made Rolan wearing a combination of a wizard's robes with elements of Day of the Dead catrinas costume combined with the flower crown and make up.

The background is a bit simpler, but the colourful paper cut-out has the mythical dice on it.

Aaaand of course our new lord of Ramazith tower must have the legendary Markoheshkir.

I hope you like it as much as I do, I was very anxious to upload it and show it to everyone.

And his profile, stunning. This is from one of my sketches in a previous post. I'm playing around with more shading and I'm loving the textured brushes for Zevlor.
