Tbh I keep forgetting to update over here oh gosh I’m sorry everyone;;; My mind’s been all over the place lately hahaha. Anyway! Have a 30-ish min Hiro warmup, Older!Hiro with... a very upgraded Baymax, and some Darkpath Tadashi sketches!

Bonus why not:

Little update to show “hey I’m not dead I’m just super busy and dealing with some irl stuff which unfortunately happens every time summer rolls around *thumbs up*” 

Needed to practice drawing my boy again for the comic because would you believe I put this AU down for so long that I forgot how to draw his outfit? yeah. yeah that kinda happened. also a couple very subtle design changes, mainly to his satchel. 

Also a bonus thing because Wasabi is a giant adorable kitten in this AU (and in general) protect at all costs (also in reference to that gogo and wasabi pic I drew months ago):

Various doodles from my Twitter. An afternoon walk (with a stolen book, wow), wing AU Gogo, and Honey! I get requested to draw Honey a lot, so there’s that.

Also, to the anon who asked what Gogo is in Wing AU - she’s a peregrine falcon. Very fast. Very hard to catch.

I got a few prompt requests about what if Tadashi’s leg braces broke mid fight and the team + Hiro had to step in to defend him, so here this is. I haven’t done an armordashi comic in a while and I realLY WANTED TO DO ONE so the prompt requests were perfect. (For those who are new: In armordashi AU, Tadashi survived the fire but is paralyzed from the waist down, though Hiro built him some leg braces to help him walk again, and he then basically becomes a hero along with everyone else)

Maaaaaan I have so many feelings towards the team working together to keep the two nerd bros safe, even Hiro tries his hardest for Tadashi because he doesn’t wanna risk almost losing him again. Of course that’s not to say Tadashi can’t pull some Captain America with his shields, with or without his legs. He’s a tough cookie.

Hiro + Microbots

I’ve always liked the idea of Hiro just... morphing the microbots into different things in order to usually just play around. Punching things with claw microbot fists, making big microbot wings to look menacing/cool (since he can’t fly with them for multiple reasons, though boy, he’s tried), giant palm to lift things much heavier than he is (and confusing Wasabi because “Isn’t that over 50 pounds...?”), or just random other things.

Like playing kaiju with Fred:

The settings may change but Tadashi’s mother hen instincts will always remain completely 100% intact I am fully convinced

Armordashi Hiro gets grounded for leaping off of Tadashi’s back (and things in general) while doing risky stunts, meanwhile Darkpath Hiro gets grounded because he won’t stop punching his bro in the face and being a brat in general to the entirety of San Fran.

...I’d say a grounding is well warranted.

-What’s DarkpathAU?-

I needed a way to better reference their outfits, and I know some of you have been asking about references for them too, so here’s this. Including a sloppy height chart to show how much everyone’s grown (or lack thereof). Baymax is super tall now thanks to his added leg stilts, because Hiro is fully convinced that taller - more menacing, and “we want people to fear us”.

So Baymax is now overly huge and has many problems with doors, poor guy (added a zoomed in ver of the nerds sheet because of this reason, and seriously it was so hard to cram Baymax onto there BUT I TRIED MY BEST) Also I took off their helmets so you could see their hair and headbands and stuff, minus Fred who is nearly perma stuck in his suit by this point.

I recall getting an ask a while back about drawing Tadashi with wings but I went the extra mile and drew Hiro (with a bonus Gogo+Wasabi in the bg) too. SO WingAU is a thing I guess idk (blame b1ueflame for this too as I mentioned on twitter)

Hiro’s a hummingbird and is pretty much constantly eating sweets (he has a pouch on the back of his belt for sweet storage, actually), and he doesn’t have fully developed wings yet since he’s still young, so he can’t fly as far or as fast as everyone else can. Tadashi being a swan, he’s extremely protective over Hiro and will literally bash people in the face with his wings if someone tries to pick on the little guy. He’s also spoiled Hiro a heck of a lot by constantly carrying him around whenever he gets tired.

Wasabi’s a golden eagle, Gogo is a falcon, Fred’s a pelican, and Honey’s a crane. So yeah. Wings /wiggles fingers

Here’s some insight into Tadashi’s backstory in darkpath, AS PROMISED, and also what the heck Callaghan’s role is, since a lot of you have been asking if he’s dead or alive. 

Long story short, as you noticed, he saved Tadashi from the fire (though the kid almost died, suffered a nasty headwound, burns, etc. and was placed in a two year coma because of his head injury), admitted him as an anonymous patient in a neighboring city’s hospital, and left him there. No one but Callaghan knew he was alive - he didn’t want to risk his plans coming to light if someone were to discover Tadashi too early. Cue him waking up two years later, with extremely scattered memories, but a very clear memory of Callaghan, since he saw him before while still barely conscious, so unfortunately Tadashi 100% trusts him. 

It’s just unfortunate that the man his mind chose to remember is the one that’s deceiving him into trying to get rid of Hiro for him, just to get him out of his hair so he can get the microbots back and resume his original plans. Callaghan is also the one who’s been sending out the fake Tadashi’s to Hiro. So now that the real Tadashi is here... well, he couldn’t be happier.

But, thankfully after Tadashi got Wasabi free, he cleared things up a little bit - but he still hasn’t revealed the full story about Hiro, which is what the next comic will be about. All Tadashi knows currently, is that the masked man is actually his little brother. And he needs to save him.

Bonus (since someone keeps trying to leave before he’s healed fully):

I can see him being a vigilante, rather than an outright villain or hero, he kinda does his own thing with his own motives. I can also imagine him being pretty silent - whether he recognizes Hiro and the team or not is another story. I haven’t really fleshed anything out yet, I just wanted to doodle what I think the armor would look like hahaha;;

I really wanted to get at least a small doodle out tonight to celebrate BH6 winning an oscar so this is something a lot messier than what I normally do, but wooOO MY BABIES WON AN OSCAR I'M SO PROUD

I seriously owe a lot to this movie, it pulled me outta a horrible art slump and put me on the right track again, and honestly made me the happiest I've been in a long while. I related a lot to the characters in the movie (Hiro particularly), and I only wish I had this movie around when I was 14 and suffering through the exact same thing Hiro was. So here's to this amazing movie, and I strongly urge everyone to go see it on DvD when it's released in a day.

Again - Congratulations, Big Hero 6! You deserve it, and so, so much more!

Messy color and environment studies with these two nerds, you can make up your own stories for what's going on in each of them (though I will tell you that in the last one, Wasabi was telling Tadashi stories of their past and the kid actually fell asleep on him, whoops)

Also introducing Tadashi's bike that he found and fixed up the best he possibly could, so it's now their main method of getting from place to place in a decent timeframe. 

The first time the rest of the team saw Tadashi was also the first time he said very familiar words that struck a cord in all of them, while also giving them hope for the future

Even if Hiro won't admit to it outright, it was that small phrase that really punched him in the gut and made him think. Sadly, the more he thinks the angrier he gets, and the further away he drives himself as a result. (Also a side note, I'm toying with the idea that Hiro likes to form his microbots into various weapon types, his favorites being small throwing knives and a long staff, since he's pretty against actually using Tadashi's katana for a variety of reasons)

It's b1ueflame's birthday today so to celebrate I drew some gogo/wasabi because she likes the pairing

And also because she made me like the pairing too but that's beside the point

I mainly made these for my own reference, but I'll post them here in case anyone else can get some use outta em too. Darkpath spans from late summer, through winter, and into the next year, so everyone would need outfits for the occassion. I also took the bandages/gauntlets off Tadashi's arms so you can see the burn scars there.

Good thing Cass managed to salvage some things from the old Lucky Cat, she found Tadashi's Ninjas hat and also his old green blazer. She also gave them some money to go clothes shopping if they wanted. As for where Hiro gets his clothes from, who knows, probably send Gogo out to steal them or something

Haha well I'm promising backstory on DarkpathAU and this is just the beginning of that, the uh... 'setup' comic, if you will. 

Hiro might be kinda sorta starting to realize something is a little different about this specific 'imposter', though his mind is trying to refuse all possibility that this guy really is Tadashi. Though considering he just took a bullet for him, well

Hiro's a little ticked off to say the least. (Also this kid really needs to stop getting face injuries I mean seriously)
