Familiar Painting
recent ffxiv drawings: top is my Azem as Reaper and the bottom two are commissions!
It’s a small, broken family. But with the three of us, I know we’ll get along just fine. We still have each other.
Wanting to draw younger Hamadas turned into drawing Tadashi heavily struggling after the loss of their parents, since he was old enough to deal with it. He and Cass had to carry the weight on their own for a good while, since Hiro was still too young to understand (and Tadashi just lied, saying “They’re just on vacation, they’ll be back someday”). He vowed to shoulder it for both he and Hiro, so the poor kid wouldn’t have to be troubled by it when he was young.
Turns out it was Hiro who ended up easing most of the pain though, huh.

He does later on once he and Hiro get a good portion of alone time together, but Hiro is so far in the denial pit that he's just like "naaahhHHHHHH FALSE technology has been wrong before it's probably just a glitch".

That brings us to this charming little bonus where he actually does review the scan:

I've been extremely cold lately so of course the only way I feel better is by drawing cold things (makes sense right)
Have a winter college kid Hiro Hamada, might do the rest of the BH6 cast in winter clothes when I get around to it
I think about Tadashi in Baymax's armor a lot and the "what if" scenario of if he was the one there protecting Hiro instead, with his motivation to fight simply being "well my brother is attached to my back so I guess I have to, also our stuff got stolen so there's that too"
Protect Hiro at all costs, even if it means shoving him out of the way of a crumbling building and taking the fall yourself
