It made me super nostalgic for some of my older cosplays.

Red - Ariel, Orange - Orihime, Yellow - Rapunzel, Green - Fakir (wig I styled for Karen & attempted to look grumpy like him xD), Blue - Shippuden!Hinata, Purple - Some random wig I borrowed from Caitlin one day, Pink - Pinkie Pie, Brown - Sora, Black - Toph, White - Prussia, Multiple - Twilight Sparkle, My own hair - Enjolras
1. Cutting out foam strips
2. Sewing foam strips into tubes
3. ( Not shown; dying tubes yellow ) Covering tubes in beige nylon
4. Cutting wefts from additional wigs
5. Separating sections of the base wig
6. Sew tube to nape of neck 7. Sew all tubes to nape of neck ( aha! )
8. Glue wefts around tubes ( ribbon helps them stay sectioned off )
9. Braid sections, drape around tubes and braid the big braid
10. DECORATE AND YOU’RE DONE! ( Please note that I left out the swearing, crying, binge eating out of frustration, hours worth of combing out tangles, the pile of casualty wig hair and multiple failed attempts at the big braid cause the tubes kept getting tangled amongst each other. )
ahhh foam tubes is brilliant!! i wonder if this would work with just like…pool noodles? or maybe those would be too hard to actually bend well…
this is the most amazing Rapunzel wig I've seen so far! Even better than the parks' ones imo *___*
So I was looking for my Hiccup cosplay pieces today just because I was INSPIRED BY THE HTTYD2 TRAILER YAYAYAYYY and found my wig and it was kind of disheveled and I realized if you kept it like this, especially with some hair spray and extra styling, it would make a great shorthair!Rapunzel wig xDD.....
How to take your wig from gross to great!
This isn’t a new method at all, but instead my results using this tutorial.
While the before shot is pretty terrible photo quality to begin with, you can see the wig is basically a ratty, gross-looking mess.

Ariel wig number two! I finished it last night but it was too late to try it on. I went for way bigger bangs this time as opposed to a natural style like my first. I'm (finally!) debuting Ariel to the Disneyland Halloween thing this year.
The wig was pretty long so I used some of that extra hair to make the bangs thicker.
A group of friends and I are getting together to make the Avengers Gowns by kelseymichele and I finally ordered a wig for Iron Man and it came in yesterday. (I put a reference to the hair style in the corner but you can see the whole outfit in the pic I linked.) It's the first lace front wig I own~~ Super excited for this group! It's been planned for about 2 months now and I think some of us are starting to work on our outfits. I styled this fairly quickly just to see how it'll look. First pic is of the wig unstyled, obviously. I'm still deciding what's a good way to style the back but keep the whole thing flattering to my face.
Hey all, I've finally decided to sell one of my America wigs! (I have two, keeping my old one~)
I talked about it months ago but at the time thought "nah nevermind" but the first wig is in better shape than I thought so I don't really need this newer one anymore.
All pictures above features the one I am selling. The ahoge/cowlick/nantucket/whatever you want to call it is attached to the wig.
I'm thinking $45 for it for now, but willing to negotiate. I don't want to go too low since there was some styling required for it but too high seems weird too since it's a shorter wig. Message me here or on deviantART here if you are interested. First come, first served basis! If I get a serious buyer, we can talk about shipping then.
Ikki wig is done! She has orange-red bands on the bottom of the poofs and they are THERE but when I attached everything you can't see them. :c Oh well.
So there have been a few times where I had to cut a longer wig into a shorter one for whatever reason. I accidentally found a better way to do this! xD;;
In this case, I am reusing an old brown wig to style into Ikki (Legend of Korra) to save time and money. This isn't the wig I discovered how to do this with but it's the one I'm using to demonstrate. THOUGH I forgot to take pics of the wig before so I tried to pretend that big chunk I took off it is still attached. Pretend too? 8D;;
It's easy when you have a wig clamp that attaches to the side of things. That's how I got the wig to sit horizontally.
When it's sitting horizonal, just cut straight into it at the length you want. It'll automatically layer itself. You can trim the sides later as needed because this just works for getting the length off the back.
One Hetalia character I've always contemplated cosplaying since her design came out was Monaco. (I liked her with darker hair in the original design, though.) I realized one of the wigs I ordered accidentally back in the day--I once in a while misjudge colors when it comes to blonde wigs arfjgahfha--could KINDA work for her. IDK though, I can only see wearing the costume once for a shoot and that's it so I may not make it. The jacket I'm wearing is close to the color to her coat but it's not long enough to even modify weepweep
When it comes to picking Hetalia characters to cosplay I seem to gravitate towards the blonde ones (America, nyo!England, nyo!America...) with glasses (America, nyo!England.) Only nyo!Prussia and Romano don't have any of these traits. XD;;

This is pretty much what I do when I want to give bangs more oomph! I experimented a lot when I was working on Karen's Fakir wig a few years ago. So much teasing with a comb and hairspraying xD;;
This tutorial covers how to make a Cloud Wig with two wigs. However the tutorial also has some AWESOME tips on how to spike wigs as well. Which can be useful for any wig, even a wig that doesn’t have two wigs worth of fiber!

I had the absolute HARDEST TIME deciding between Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie because I knew they'd both be a lot of fun to cosplay and when I asked for suggestions they were close buuuut Pinkie Pie got the most votes in the end...
I styled the front bang and trimmed and then moved all the curls to one side since a side pony-tail just seemed to work. They are bobby-pinned in like crazy but I think it'll stay up. 8D;

I finally styled a new wig for my America cosplay since I tend to do that whenever I wear a costume more than I expect and the wig takes a beating. (Hi, Ahiru & Sora)
This Nantucket isn’t as flippy as the other one, lol. I didn’t have to cut it from a ridiculous long length but I did have to trim the bangs and a little bit from the back, mooove the bangs, and hairspray and fluff them so they don’t look flat. You think that wouldn’t take too long but it does, especially when a wig doesn’t have a real part. Annoying~~ I made a fake part by sewing one in since this one doesn’t have a nice skin top like the first.

Ahh someone interested already! I'mmm still considering. Pricing is always something I struggle with for my wigs. Like, that one is a short wig and worn a decent amount of times so it wouldn't be super pricey but for the styling and my attachment to it, I couldn't sell it for real cheap either. D: I'd feel guilty if I charged too much! And yet sad if I didn't charge enough, hahah. But if I did decide to let go of it, I'll message you first. (As long as you have Paypal--it just makes everything easier. xD)
