Housekeeping Note
I will be away for a few days thanks to having a very busy mid-term schedule at the school. Nothing to worry about, health is good, but the kids need a good prepping before exams start. See you quite soon.

I will take November off to focus on some minor issues, and I will decide how frequently I will post in 2025. More to come.
My friends, I am in dire need of a rest. I’ve been on the road for a few weeks now, and the joints are going a bit sore. I will resume posting after August 17, after I celebrate making it to 54 years. See you soon!
Today is a rest day as I’ve not had a day’s break since returning to Beijing. Back to posting tomorrow.
[Music] A Garden of Earthly Delights Thanks to the fears of the Corona Virus in China, I have a bit of time to add great bands to AGOED. If you have any suggestions, do let me know.
If you would like me to add your information to the wiki, just send me a note. My correspondence response is a bit slow because I’m moving from one part of Beijing to another, but I will be responding to you ASAP.
[Music] Музыкальный блог A Miscellany of Tasteful We want to thank the wonderful Nata Boundariver of the Russian music magazine Meticulous Midgets for her kindness in promoting our blog. If you read Russian (or use your old, trusty, and very sloppy Google Translate), check out her site here!
I have a good friend whom I’ve known since about 1993 who was devastated by the death of David Bowie. I felt awful hearing about that, but his passing didn’t quite hit me as hard as it did my friend. It may have been because there is about a ten-year difference in age. The experiences you have with certain musicians at a certain…
My Bandcamp Site I really enjoy the Bandcamp platform. Though I plan on spending a lifetime reviewing records and pointing good releases out to friends, …
This blog is nearing the end of its shelf life. Tumblr isn’t a particularly good place to converse with people, though it’s been a lot of fun to share some quote, music and ideas. I may come back under another guise, and will continue to post on my own sites. If, for whatever reason, you wish to stay in contact, just let me know, and I’ll gladly swap e-mails with you.
I’ll continue to post here and there until Christmas, and then, it’s off into the sunset.
It looks like I’ll be scaling back the sprawling mess that is my Internet presence over the next few weeks, as I’m going to have to deal with knee surgery and therapy, which will keep me off my feet for a bit. If any of my regular website readers could help me regarding post types for WordPress, I’d be much obliged. I’d like to do something along the lines of what I do on Facebook and G+,…
I am happy enough to maintain a presence here, as I'm always finding little treasures, but to be honest, this place is wretched in terms of communicating with people. I had a nice spate of people commenting on the blog, and for you folks, I'm honored you took the time to do so. I won't mirror this site anywhere else, but I figure that I'll either stick to my personal blogs or my new Blogger account to see if chatting up with people will be a bit easier and more civil.
Thanks, folks!
For all of the new followers, it's a pleasure to meet you and I thank you for the add. Feel free to contact, or look at the about page for more info.
You may notice a lot of art, religious imagery, music and the occasional nude. None of these contradict each other. They're all examples, at least in my eyes, of God's Craftsmanship.
That is all. Back to your regularly scheduled Tumbling.
A friend of mine, knowing I’m single, insisted that I join Badoo to test my luck in the dating market. I had a few very unpleasant experiences doing the online dating thing, and swore it off years ago. Though I am sure there are many success stories (at least the adverts say so), I’ve ended up with rather unpleasant people. Still, boredom won the day, and I set up an account.
One of the features I found was to rate a picture. Some pictures were obviously taken from other sites, and represent nothing of the person posting them. Some are of people of various levels of attractiveness. Fair enough. But you are given an option to rate them. It seems both cheap and cowardly to do that. If you meet someone, they may or may not be a perfect match for you. They may not be particularly beautiful. But to cast judgment on someone in that way… Something sick about it.
I couldn’t imagine what it would feel like, so I thought I’d see. I’m a moderately decent-looking chap, not foul, not a supermodel, but last I checked, I don’t go around breaking mirrors or anything, so I submitted a picture. I ended up rating a 4 for some a 6 for others, and 8 for one. Sure, I’m pleased to be an 8 to someone. But the fact that someone rated me a 4 bothered me a bit. I know full well it’s a matter of taste, but I can see why people can become disheartened when, day after day, you’re made to feel ugly.
It’s days like this where I wonder why I didn’t go to the monastery instead of enduring the rubbish of this life.
