@soft-raining people talking about foreign politics as if its only about them is weird and bad but saying usa politics dont influence the world is also false. the usa is the wealthiest country in the world, with one of the most powerful militarys... and a track record of getting very involved with foreign politics. it's normal to worry about political developments in other countries. do you think trumps election had no influence on europeans? do you think political movements stop at
country borders? people also talk about french elections, and italian elections and canadian and austalian and south korean elections. there are things beside invasion that can happen. and it's not like stating a certain political direction of a political party is calling for people not to vote? (none of this is meant in a rude way, hope it doesn't come across as that :))
This isn’t merely neutral talk on American elections, it’s very deliberate, and neither of us said American elections have no impact on other countries. That sentiment does not exist in this post. It’s that this country is a two-party system and Republicans are significantly worse on LITERALLY everything else, from domestic politics to foreign policy, so the idea that spreading misinformation by equating the parties and discouraging blue voter turnout somehow helps American foreign policy is absolutely false. That’s first of all. Secondly, all of these posts are designed to be voter suppression, even the ones that don’t outright say it and use more subtle tactics. I’ve been online long enough to know that. Notice how they pretty much never go after Republicans, just Democrats, and there is no purpose for falsely equating the parties other than getting left-leaning people gradually disillusioned enough to say “who cares if Trump wins again? They’re all capitalists anyway.” Third, the horror Republicans inflict upon Americans matters and it’s extremely aggravating to have Europeans (or anyone who doesn’t live here) dismiss Rs enabling countless mass shootings, abortion bans and criminalization, transphobic and homophobic laws, and the increased brutalization of immigrants with “but capitalism tho.” And again, Republicans are infinitely worse on foreign policy, so there’s no excuse like “well I need to bash Democrats online to protect the world!!”

... Biden admin has given $32 billion to tribes. Like you can Google this. It's the largest ever investment in tribes. This includes a lot of money for language revitalization. They have a ten year action plan for language revitalization and preservation. Students at tribal colleges are fully funded for two years. The Republican governor of Oklahoma, which has one of the highest Native populations in the country, is currently picking fights with the Cherokee nations about sovereignty by refusing to recognize tribal plates. Does anyone remember the Bear's Ears restoration because I do. Look here's a language and song project funded by the Rescue Plan and NEA. There are advisory boards for water and natural land management that are now legally bound to have tribal consultants. Trump wrecked Tohono O'odham lands with the stupid fucking wall. There's a huge difference that is stated in party platforms! good god
