Grif ships involve Grif forcing the other character to be more chil ( Simmons, Carolina, Donut, Sarge, and Church)
and
eat more than once ( Simmons, Wash and Doc ) ..
. and the other character has the task of getting Grif to be more of an active participant in his daily life.
also eat regular meals and take his medication.
And stop being apathetic.
The benefit of dating Grif is.: Expert cuddler, reciprocates and loves foreplay, and also will make sure you're loved and feel supported by him. Also Food expert, knows the best restaurants, best napping locations, best beaches, and fishing spots...
Cons :
He will forget to take care of himself and will over eat, ghen get sick if you don't watch him.
He requires affection and affirmation because he will be down on himself constantly.
Genuinely doesn't think he's attractive or handsome.
(if it is alright for me to add, because I had similar thoughts; this is the last bit in my fic that involves them all going back to Earth, Grif and Simmons finally start dating, and... yeah. They still fight and bicker, they're still annoying and drive each other crazy, but also? Make each other genuinely happy~)
Life went on, because now they could all do that; go on with their lives. Living in the same space with about a dozen other people (plus Locus, occasionally) meant privacy was about as rare as somebody getting struck by lightning while also being attacked by a shark (although, nobody would be surprised if that actually happened to one of them). It wasn't as if Grif and Simmons didn't think the others would notice... eventually. At some point.
The others did notice; they noticed that Grif and Simmons spent a lot of time just back in their shared room, sometimes with the door open, and could be seen leaning back on Grif's bed while watching a movie, sharing some snacks, laughing or arguing about whether or not the movie sucked, and why. They noticed that Grif and Simmons would also play games while sitting in a blanket-pile on the floor, working together, trying to beat each other, more arguing, more laughing. Occasionally, Grif would drift off during either activity, and snuggle himself into Simmons. They noticed that Simmons rarely minded, simply waving when he saw the others go by in the hall, and grabbed himself a book to read while the weighted-Grif-blanket snored against his chest.
