Currently, I use Procreate on iPad Pro (11inch, 4th gen)! Previously, I've used procreate on the regular, cheaper iPad and that worked totally fine until I ran out of space! the Pro is definitely faster too
Before that I used a wacom bamboo and paint tool sai on my laptop!! which I also loved!! the portability of the iPad has been fantastic tho :)

how do you make money? like, what sources of income do you have from your art? and how do you get commissions?
Hello!! I'd love to give some tips to a fellow furry artist trying to make some money :D
Currently, my sources of income are commissions and payments from Etsy and Kofi for my bases! I'm only just starting to branch into dealing at cons and merchandise this year, but currently I'm in the "putting money into the business" stage :') Adopts are also good to try ang get into so you're not doing comms all the time!! To be clear, I am also currently on unemployment payments until I'm making enough for furry art to be my only income! I tried doing furry art full time back in 2022 for about 6 months, I also had patreon back then which was a great way to get a more stable payment. But I ended up eating my savings and had to get a retail job :(
I really think it's doable to do furry art full time and make a liveable amount, but when you start out you definitely need savings, another income or someone paying your bills to keep you afloat.
As for how to get commissions, I've been doing comms since I was 15 on DeviantArt for like 50c for a fullbody XD and I feel really lucky that I don't have much trouble getting comms now. Some quick tips would be: - ALWAYS post art examples when advertising your commissions!! - Putting most of the info (price, how to pay etc) into the image is really helpful for engagement, especially on sites like Twitter. - Make and post personal art, and make it art you'd like to get as commissions (Don't make art you think will "get popular" or you think people will want to buy, you'll burn out!!) - I have a website at the top of my linktree with my base prices AND I'll post a comm post with examples and prices in it every now and again - posting commissions once they're done seems to help a lot, even if they're not as popular as your personal work, if just ONE person sees if who wants something similar, that's a sale!!

This is so sweet thank you!! TwT I was mostly self taught before I was 18, I just drew whatever made me happy. I rarely used references, but when I did my art would always turn out better lol. Sometimes I would learn techniques through tutorials on deviantart or from my other artist friends!
Once I went to university I did a drawing course which covered the fundamentals and really helped improve my art! Mostly things like anatomy, form, colour. And so now I try and go back and revise these things whenever I can.
I think finding a balance between drawing whatever you want for fun and learning the fundamentals is good! But for me, having fun with my art has got me a lot further.
Re: that person's cursed comment, Vaporeon is one of the more popular pokemon for uh... lewd content. To the extent that there's a copypasta about how it's erm... practically "designed for it".

No, I don't! But I do want one BADLY. Mostly because I have started going to furry cons and events this year.
Unfortunately, I don't see myself having the budget to buy one anytime soon nor the time to make one myself. But it's definitely pretty high up there on the things I want to save for!

Thank you for posting about the animation assist in procreate, I've been using it to draw for over a year but having to use flipiclip for animations and struggling so hard bc I had NO idea about that 😭😭😭
Oh yeah no worries!! The only thing is there's no option to add sound or music on Procreate so flipaclip is better for that!
I've tried using flipaclip to make animation memes and stuff but my iPad a little too old and slow for it :(

What's a truesona? When I tried to look it up it said it's a fursona that represents its creator, but I thought all fursonas represent their creator in some way. Do truesonas go further in that regard?
From what I understand, that's exactly what it is!
For me, Ruby is my fursona because she represents what I love in terms of design, animal and personality.
But as for Cassidy, she represents more of my actual, physical self (slightly enhanced of course, I wish I had bunny ears). My given name is Cassidy, I feel that the animal that best represents me is a rabbit, and I tried my best to represent my body and look in rabbit form!
