The Supreme Court in Sweden has rejected Wikileaks founder Julian Assange's request to cancel a warrant for his arrest following complaints of sexual misconduct against him in 2010.

Assange, who has been hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden, was accused in 2010 by two Swedish women of committing rape and assault. The Australian was granted asylum inside the embassy in 2012 to avoid being sent to Stockholm for questioning.

“He threatened to handcuff and beat me up,” one of the inmates, Stanley Harris, said during a recent phone interview. “He said he’d put me in like a holding tank, handcuff me and fuck me up.”

Harris, a six-foot tall African-American man weighing roughly 350 pounds, said Neu promised to reward him if he fought another inmate, Ricardo Palikiko Garcia, and won.

“I got a cheeseburger if you whoop his ass,” Harris said he was told by the deputy. “I’ll take care of you if you fuck him up,” he recalled hearing.

Oklahoma lawmakers are pushing for the state to become the first to allow the use of nitrogen gas as a back-up method to execute death row prisoners. The bill passed the state Senate Judiciary Committee and will now head to the floor for a vote.

Oklahoma lawmakers are pushing for the state to become the first  to allow the use of nitrogen gas as a back-up method to execute  death row prisoners. The bill passed the state Senate Judiciary  Committee and will now head to the floor for a vote.

The Committee voted 8-0 on Tuesday to move forward with a  House-passed measure that would grant the use of nitrogen gas in  executions. Under the bill, lethal injection would remain the  state’s primary method of execution, but using a gas chamber  would be an alternative should lethal injection be declared  unconstitutional or the drugs become unavailable.

Officials in Washington, DC are reviewing thousands of criminal cases after learning that a computer glitch may have prevented defense attorneys from receiving evidence during the last two and a half years.

“It was possible that in pending and past cases MPD was in possession of information that should have been disclosed to the defense and had unwittingly failed to provide that information,” outgoing United States Attorney Ronald Machen said in a letter sent to lawyers on Monday.

Dozens of FBI agents raided a Florida medical supply firm following accusations of Medicare fraud. The firm’s top executive is Daniel Porush – a convicted felon whose illegal antics were featured in the movie 'The Wolf of Wall Street.'

On Wednesday, FBI agents, the Florida fraud department, and local law enforcement officials closed entrances to the building of Med-Care Diabetic & Medical Supplies Inc., in Boca Raton, Florida, and were seen removing boxes of files. Employees of the company were seen leaving the offices as law enforcement officials arrived, according to Reuters.

Oklahoma lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban wearing a mask, hood or other types of face covering in the state’s public spaces. If the bill passes, it would join similar bans in other states.

Introduced by the chair of the Oklahoma’s public safety committee, state senator Don Barrington (R), the bill is intended “to deter crime, making it unlawful to wear a mask, hood or covering during the commission of a crime or to intentionally conceal a person’s identity in a public place.” The reasoning behind the bill is to cut down the number of masked robberies and crimes.

There are some exceptions to the bill, as it wouldn’t apply to the pranks of children on Halloween, those participating in masquerade parties or public parades, against “those wearing coverings required by their religious beliefs,” or against masks/facial coverings worn for medical purposes.
