I have nothing new to show you today, so here’s some more red crystals from this one cool piece I found two weeks ago
Okay back to photos of this one rock as promised. Some sweet botryoidal goodness. #rock #agate #chalcedony #silica #quartz #rocks #agates #gem #gemstone #mineralogy #rockhounding #Oregon #geology #mineral #minerals #botryoidal #jasper #closeup #macro #macrophotography #loupe
I had thought it was red showing through clear crystals, but here we see varying shades of red crystals! This is probably due to hematite/iron inclusion, but it could be something more sinister, like cinnabar. I’ll exercise caution handling this one. (at Pink Sugar Crystals)
Another mystery mineral, purple/white specimen from… Fish Creek maybe? Doesn’t seem very quartzy, but I’d believe if it was.
Crystals can’t make me better, but I’m still trying to heal. Infuriating not being able to do anything. Sorry, I’ll stop complaining now right after you enjoy this… cool rock. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
Another tiny carnelian, probably Willamette or Molalla river. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
Someone said it was #WaterlevelWednesday (@lsagates I believe), and that’s a game I can get behind. Here’s some water level banding on a tiny agate pebble from god knows where. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
Little tiny agate with little tiny banding and little tiny crystals. Little tiny location unknown. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
One of my first rocks, from the John Day River in central Oregon. Kinda blue, kinda thundereggy. Summer 2014. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
I think I’ve shown you this agate before, not not in super close up form! White agate from, I think, the Willamette river. (at Agate Psychotherapy)
Unedited close up of some carnelian from somewhere (at Agate Psychotherapy)
I’ll stop spamming your feed after this, but I had to show you this impossibly small bright purple agate from today, I don’t even know how I found it! This color is incredibly rare around these parts, and very hard to photograph, and of course there was a blue fiber in the best shot. Still, I’m very happy with this tiny, tiny find.
Channeling my inner @agates_of_lake_superior thanks to an old iPhone that @kkatieclarkk gave me. This tiny (under dime size) agate is from the Molalla River in Canby, Oregon. Photo totally unedited. #agate #rock #rocks #agatesofthemolallariver #rockhounding #oregon #loupe #macro #macrophotography #carnelian #geology
