aromantic Roy Kent means the WORLD to me. I don't necessarily think he's ace as well, but I could talk forever about him being aromantic.

first of all, I don't think Roy even realizes he's aromantic seeing as he's a product of his time and environment, for a long long time if he ever does. Especially because one of Roy's fundamental building blocks of his personality is how much he cares about everything all the time, while simultaneously being emotionally repressed.

Roy is someone I think cares, and wants to be cared about, but I also think he doesn't have any real preference for how that happens. He wants people in his life to love, and to be loved by, and he knows that a romantic relationship is the easiest way to get that without having to articulate any of the nuances to what he actually wants/needs.

This means Roy has a habit of thinking he needs to love people a certain way to live up to their expectations or standards, instead of just loving them in his own less conventional way. It's also why he and Jamie cling to my brain the way they do, because they stumble right into the perfect dynamic that suits Roy's internal desire to be needed and cared about without the expectations of romance or sex thrown in the mix, as well as suiting Jamie's need for someone present and steady to rely on. They just kind of stumble into the perfect balance with each other.

And to me, that dynamic is something that Roy would live and die content and happy to experience. He doesn't find anything weird about dedicating his life to caring about people even if it's not the traditional way that might happen. It also pisses him right off when people start bugging him about "wanting more" because he doesn't need more. He's got what he wants, he's happy, and people who refuse to accept that he doesn't need something else to be fulfilled can fuck right off as far as he's concerned.

I cannot put into words how much I Fucking Loathe the fact that when you search something on youtube now it will randomly intersperse blocks of "people also watched" and "for you" into the results. That's not what I searched for, youtube. I typed in a search query because I wanted to see search results, not random unrelated garbage you have placed in my way apparently to either inconvenience me or force me to scroll further for actual results. I despise your wretched little games and every time I see it I can only instantly close the tab as I am overcome with the urge to burn something down.

They also refuse to actually show the parameters you searched for. If you sort by “upload date,” the first few videos might be more recent ones by upload date, but anything past that you’ll find a video that was uploaded five years ago, then five months ago, then three years ago, etc, which—NO! That’s NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR!! PUT THEM IN ORDER!!!

Also sometimes the “people also watched” bullcrap will not only be entirely unrelated, it will also be videos with violent, sometimes outright triggering thumbnails. I’ve gotten some AWFUL unrelated video thumbnails just when searching for video game music videos.
