I would like everyone here to know that in response to the government banning TikTok under the excuse “they might be selling data to china” TikTok users are mass downloading the Chinese TikTok equivalent app Red Note (otherwise known as Red Book or Little Red Book) named after the famous piece of communist propaganda written by Mao Zedong and willingly giving their data. It’s also lead to a lot of cross cultural communication and there are already hundreds of people trading English lessons for mandarin lessons

Tumblr vultures, does anyone have experience trying to preserve cooked poultry bones?

I was making stock out of my dad’s leftover whole Christmas Turkey carcass and while filtering it at the end I came across these gorgeous babies

What are my chances of ever getting the Turkey smell out of them enough to wear them as earrings to the next Christmas dinner?

Hi! Long time bone collector and former park ranger here- if they’re not too brittle from being boiled they should be nice and sterile now! I suggest washing them in warm water with dish soap to cut the grease. You can soak them in the soapy water if they seem sturdy enough to get any grease down in the porous parts. Then cover them in a water/baking soda paste and leave for a little while. Then gently scrub them off with a soft toothbrush and water

I’d say if all goes well they can be earrings in a week or so!

@murderandjam oh ya I forgot I haven’t seen much about this on tumblr but there are at least 50+ drones THE SIZE OF CARS in the sky over New Jersey and have been there for a few days. The government’s official stance is that they “don’t know where they are coming from” but civilians should “not engage” if they see or are being followed by one and to call the government if one crashes but not to go near it

#also the news has conveniently been nothing but this the last few days dropping the Luigi stuff

Honestly the safest I’ve felt in the world in a long time. Citizens telling a corrupt leader ‘no’ when he tries to take over, a vigilante gunning down a healthcare ceo giant causing insurance companies to wet themselves and fix their shit, the mass memeage of the downfall of “untouchable” men, just the community I’ve felt over the past couple of days has been unmatched and I hope it continues
