Hm... For some reason I thought they would wear berets because Marines are slotted in with the Navy but after some digging it looks like Marine's aren't authorized to wear berets like Navy (women only) can.
So, I guess someone in the wardrobe department didn't do their homework. Especially considering those red berets background marines wear sometimes, like with Stackhouse and during the Seige.
Huh.
Another thought in this vein is why do the military individuals in Stargate wear hats indoors in general? It goes against US military etiquette. Marine's also don't salute indoors either and I'm pretty sure I've seen that happening as well.

INTERESTING. i was wondering what was up with that! i've only ever seen marines (on tv) wear soft covers and not (technically) indoors, so this tracks.
and at first i was thinking, oH! she's a part of the royal marines, but then i realized she's american aldjfhsdf. and i guess her beret would have to be green?
i guess the USAF consultants weren't sure/weren't asked about it 😅 or maybe the producers/writers thought the saluting looked cool, so they just kept it in 😂
