I have a story idea for all the other bitches who, like me, think there's not enough isekais where the heroine is hate fucking the villain :D

The villain is a god who forces immortality on the heroine and treats her like a posession. The heroine sees this as a curse because she thinks if she dies she'll wake back up in our world. He's the only person who can kill her and he refuses out of spite because she "belongs" to him.

But one of the fates tells her that if she kills him, the last drop of blood from his heart will become a fruit, and if she eats it she will become mortal again. So she's like dead set on killing him so she can come back to our world. She tries to kill him during sex at least once.

At some point he gets tired of the murder attempts and banishes her to the mortal realm where she immediately learns how to use a sword. Her blood has healing properties and she's immortal so she fights in several wars, learning how to use multiple weapons.

She falls in love with one of the men who teaches her how to fight. He treats her with respect and keeps her secrets without being told to. He's a warrior but he's also kind. She's absolutely terrified that the god will kill him if he finds out she loves this man so there's lots of pining.

There's hate sex. Lots of it. She's drawn to him because to make her immortal he forced her to consume some of his blood and it draws her to him so now while she fuckin hates this guy she also finds him irresistible so she's like "he's almost too hot to kill but I want Starbucks and Barnes and Noble and the conveniences of modern society back and to not watch everyone I ever love grow old and die without the comfort of knowing I'll see them in the afterlife, so it's gotta be done."

The god: I am the only person who can kill you and I never will because you are mine and I want to keep you (and have sex with you) forever

The heroine:

the "shame" gif from hot fuzz where Nick frost is loading shells into a shotgun and saying "shame"the "shame" gif from hot fuzz where Nick frost is loading shells into a shotgun and saying "shame"

Anyway I'm not going to write it yet but I as soon as A Lesbian Gets Isekai'd is finished I have to pick between my several other ideas I have for web novels/books but honestly this idea is so trashy I'm like "I want to read this story but unfortunately that means I need to write it first. Fuck."

The guy she falls in love with is A Decent Man who treats her with respect and respects her agency, something Mr Forcing Immortality On You does not. They've been companions and battle buddies for years and she desperately wants to be with him. There is pining. He helps her find a way to kill the god, is her companion on her quest to find a weapon that can kill the god, and he's at her back during the final showdown. The first thing she does when she regains her mortality is tell him she loves him. He's sweet and as kind as a warrior can be. She desperately wants to save him from her immortal lover's jealousy.

Writing a queer isekai is fun because I'm not just subverting "reverse harem all the men are in love with her" tropes I'm also subverting things like the fact that typical isekai heroines wake up as rich aristocrats and are like "Yay I'm rich!" and that's that. But most of the people I know are like "If I was rich I would help people." Sofia wakes up in a rich woman's body and is like "Okay, the only way I can live with myself accepting this situation and the blatant exploitation of poor people I am benefiting from is if I become a philanthropist."

I think "Yay I'm rich" is a great fantasy, but "Yay I'm rich and can help people" is a much better wish fulfillment. At least for me. Also Sofia just hates capitalism so much. On Earth she was poor and now she's not even allowed to wash her hair herself and it's taxing and grating. Though she does appreciate not having to do chores and such and she makes sure her workers are paid fairly and have access to medical care, sick leave, and vacations.

I don't know if this is a cultural difference because most of the isekais I read are Korean in origin or if it's just that wish fulfillment fantasies don't want to stray too far into the bad parts of life, but like. I don't think an orphan from Earth who woke up to a loving family would ignore the orphans in her new world. And some isekais do address this, like I Became The Male Lead's Adoptive Daughter/The Male Lead's Little Lion Daughter shows Leo taking care of her friends at the orphanage. But not enough of them explore that side of things, so I intend to in my story.

"I am rich and loved" is great wish fulfillment on its own, but "I'm rich and loved and can make a difference" is a much bigger fantasy of mine.

She convinces the aroace Duke Winterspring to marry her and be her beard simply by being casually accepting of aromantics. Initially he turns her down, but he's curious about her and approaches her to get to know her

She makes a comment offhand about how some people don't feel sexual or romantic attraction and there's nothing wrong with that. Some people are just different. And he goes quiet and asks her if she doesn't think people who cannot feel romantic love are inhuman. Her response is that dehumanizing people who are different is NEVER okay and there is absolutely nothing wrong with people who don't feel romantic love.

For the first time someone explicitly accepts him, and he decides maybe he should consider her proposal after all. What follows is a series of "dates" that start off more like interviews but end up as friendly meetings where they chat and joke around together. After ascertaining that their values align and they get along well, he decides "yeah, I'll be your beard."

I was talking to my aromantic friend about Sofia and William's relationship and how I want it to be a QPP and her most serious relationship and my friend was like, "I can't tell you how many times I've read a story touting a QPP and they end up in a romantic relationship" and I was HORRIFIED by this.

I spent all day getting more and more mad about it so I decided that her love for her husband helps her save the world in a moment of weakness and temptation. He's her best friend. They go to war together and save each other's lives and fall asleep in each other's arms in a tent on the edge of a battlefield. They deeply trust and love each other. And she's a lesbian and he's aroace and it stays 100% platonic despite everyone, including her gf, thinking they are madly in love.

I wrote less than usual today because we are expecting a thunderstorm today and I feel awful. But also because I am procrastinating starting chapter 3. Every time it comes time to start a new chapter I'm like "I have never written, read, or understood a word in my entire life. What is a story. Despite having over 9k words of outline I have absolutely no idea what happens in this story. Linear progression of time and events? What's that." And just have the WORST imposter syndrome that I have to overcome every single time.

So tomorrow I am making a one page text document in my scrivener file that says things like

  • Bigger idiots than me have done it
  • Written poorly is better than not written
  • Write the damn thing first, then worry if it's good
  • Perfect is the enemy of done
  • You have been praised for your writing skills by literally everyone who reads your writing for your entire life. Banish the imposter syndrome
  • Just because you've never done it before doesn't mean you can't do it. Everyone who's ever written longform fiction has a first story.
  • Anti imposter syndrome eldritch blast roll d20 for damage

Etc

Give me ideas for things to add to my anti freeze response emotional support text document

I was talking with my aromantic friend about A Lesbian Gets Isekai'd because the (platonic) male lead is aromantic and asexual and I was like "Just double checking but a lesbian and a cis aroace dude can be in a QPP right?" And we were talking about relationships and QPP in fiction and he said he's read multiple stores that tout the QPP relationship where in the end they are in a romantic relationship after all in a "you're the only exception" kind of way and I was like. Wow! That's awful!

So I am even more committed to displaying a deep love between two people who are life partners and outsiders think they are in romantic love but they very much are not. I'm sending these two to war together where their trust in each other only deepens as they fight side by side, saving each other's lives more than once. Their relationship is built on mutual trust and respect and he IS the male lead, their relationship just isn't romantic.

I'm going to write the queerest of isekais, and we respect aromantic people in this house, dammit.

Finished the rough draft of the first chapter of A Lesbian Gets Isekai'd! I also have ten pages of plot outline but alas I still don't know how the story ends! I have maybe 2/3 of the story planned out. I need to have some insomnia inspired plot planning. I do my best plotting at midnight when I'm trying and failing to sleep.

I really need to get tested for binocular vision dysfunction because looking at my computer screen for more than half an hour gives me a terrible headache. Despite my glasses being only 6 months old, text on my computer screen is blurry no matter how much I zoom in.

Wrote for a little over an hour today! Got 1,800ish words of mostly outline and some character creation and world building. My goal for writing is 200 words and my limit is between 2,000 and 3,000 words depending on how I'm doing that day, because writing gives me Post Exertion Malaise (PEM) so I have to be careful how much of it I do. I stopped writing and immediately realized I was getting a migraine and that was why my brain was suddenly mush. So. That's great (it is not great). My girlfriend body doubled with me for a while which helped me stay focused! I have come up with how to defeat the Demon King because I uh, had not come up with a resolution to the plot yet.

In A Lesbian Gets Isekai'd I'm trying to write an isekai that actually explores the ramifications of waking up in another world fabulously wealthy and powerful. I'm trying to give my character more depth than your average isekai heroine.

Most isekai heroines are like "yay, I'm rich!" And that's that. But Sage (transmigrator)/Sofia (name she ended up with) was poor on Earth, so she immediately becomes a philanthropist because she feels bad about being the one benefitting from exploitation of the working class. She lived in a one bedroom apartment on Earth so this huge mansion with vaulted ceilings, huge windows, and enormous rooms makes her feel exposed, like a bug under a microscope.

She feels awful dysphoria because she's literally wearing someone else's face. She tries to find a way to permanently change her face back to her original face because she can't stand looking in the mirror and seeing someone else. She has someone else's mannerisms because those motions are muscle memory to the body she possessed. Things like that.

She also isn't 100% sure this world is real. Maybe it's just my personal experience with psychosis but if I woke up in a different world in an adult's body, I would assume I was in some kind of coma. For me, that doubt would never go away.

Idk I feel like the average isekai glosses over a lot of stuff and I'm like "No, we're exploring that, actually" in this one.

Avatar

I am writing a new story! 35 year old lesbian gets isekai'd into the body of a 21 year old noblewoman in a fantasy world and becomes the holy maiden of three different gods in a world where transmigrators show up when the world is in great danger. She convinces an aroace Duke to be her beard simply by being accepting of aromantics. She's minding her own business trying to improve the lives of the common people in this country, to use her money and privilege for good, and finding a lover to heal her broken heart, when the Demon King starts invading this plain of existence and she has to learn real fast to fight in a war. Also she is Buddhist and clinging so tightly to the five precepts in order to save what's left of her home on earth in her heart.

Someday I'm going to write a Very Problematic lesbian romance about a knight and a thief. The thief is a mage who can heal from any wound and her blood has restorative properties. This has caused her a Tragic Backstory. The knight is in love with the princess the thief steals something important from, but is currently out of favor with the princess.

The knight catches the thief in the act, but the thief slips through her fingertips. Knight gets obsessive about redeeming herself by getting the important thing back. Ensue cat and mouse chase. The thief is just playing with her at first. She curses the knight to be unable to lie to her. Cue seething rage from the knight.

These two women are Actually Trying To Kill Each Other. There are Murder Attempts. But also banter and the thief is REALLY hot and the knight slowly stops thinking about the princess every waking minute and starts thinking about this thief that she totally isn't attracted to.

Meanwhile, knight gets into deep shit with some other people. The thief keeps appearing to interfere, and each time, she tells the knight one component she needs to break the curse, but says she'll give the last component "over my dead body." She's playing mind games and toying with the knight.

Finally, the knight finds herself in dire straits. She's cornered with no way out. Suddenly! Thief to the rescue! Cue "only I'm allowed to kill you" line. There's a dashing escape and some witty banter before the thief uses magic to restrain the knight (and tease her because bondage is hot) and runs off.

After that the murder attempts get a lot more half hearted. The knight completely loses sight of her goal and is completely wrapped up in the thief. They end up drinking together in some back alley bar and having a drunken night of amazing sex. Knight wakes up alone with the important thing and a note left on the nightstand.

But on her way home, she's attacked by the people she's in deep shit with. She gets gravely injured and the last thing she remembers before losing consciousness is the thief appearing before her and screaming at her to open her eyes.

Knight wakes up completely healed at thief's home base. There's a moment of genuine intimacy and emotional connection. Almost jokingly, the thief says, "admit it, you're in love with me." Knight opens her mouth to say no but the lying curse stops her. Oh. But she's also angry about the curse. The knight demands to know the last curse breaking component she needs, and the thief sadly says she can't tell her. They fight a lover's quarrel.

The knight gets angry and leaves, heartbroken. But! After she gets home with the important thing, she can't stop thinking about the thief. The princess's petty drama doesn't interest her anymore. She wants the woman she's been obsessed with for months.

I'm not going to give away the ending but it's a "I'm asking you to hurt me" situation. A "you have to hurt me now if we want to be happy together later" situation. A "I love you and I'm sorry and I'm begging you to hurt me please don't deny me" kind of a deal.

Someday I will write it. I have other things I want to write first, but someday I'm going to write the most problematic of all lesbians. A story of obsession.

A cottage witch and her dragon 21

It was a lovely, cool spring day in Rodgate, and Serenity had left the snoozing Dragon at home while she went to market.

More specifically, she had said "Dragon, get up. It's time to go!"

And was greeted by a very sleepy Dragon waving at her in a shooing motion. So she had left him to his own devices for the day. It wasn't the first time she had done this. When he was very young, he had stayed at home or with Granny whenever she went to market because he found the crowded marketplace too loud and overwhelming. But nowadays, sometimes he just didn't feel like getting out of bed, so Serenity left him to his own devices for the day.

On this particular day, though, Dragon was very bored. In fact, he was painfully bored. The market was infinitely more interesting than their tiny cottage. It really wasn't fair that the market started so early. Getting out of bed when it was cold was hard! People who wanted to get up early on cold days made no sense. Even Granny partook of this nonsense. Dragon couldn't understand it.

A cottage witch and her dragon 20

Rodgate sat in a wide valley that was full of lakes, rivers, and streams. The city had a river and several streams running through it. So on days like today, the fog came out in full force.

Serenity wasn't a fan of fog. It gave her the creeps. And today's fog was thicker than usual. When she went out her back door to collect firewood from the lean-to on the back porch, she suddenly felt a large amount of magical energy.

"Granny? What are you doing?" It was hard to see the old lady through the fog.

"I'm spinning fog," came the reply.
