please please please please reblog if you’re a writer and have at some point felt like your writing is getting worse. I need to know if I’m the only one who’s struggling with these thoughts
Yep, yep yep yep. It happens every time I'm going through some kind of transition - new job/lost job, moved house, global pandemic, father died, things that take up a lot of emotional and mental bandwidth. Most recently my work mentor retired a month ago and I've been on a posting hiatus because between the challenge of fully taking the reigns and grief over her leaving, I've had half a brain cell left at the end of the day and it's just enough to remember that food goes into the mouth hole and the water doesn't go down the air tube. It'll come back, I just have to convince my brain that this isn't a survival situation, I'm just going to work and doing the same thing I've been doing for about a year.
