while im on the subject, if they really wanted to separate the bad batch by making one of them collaborate with the empire, they should have gone with hunter (under the influence of the chip ofc). unlike crosshair, it actually makes sense for hunter to lead an elite team because he’s an actual leader! plus his removal from the squad would have severely impeded the remaining bad batchers’ fighting abilities (thus giving a credible weakness to an otherwise op group of characters) and upturned their dynamic. it also would have given the remaining four space to really shine and develop as they struggle and clash over leadership in hunter’s absence. like they could have gotten so much millage off a relatively simple plot, with the goal of season one being to get hunter back.
