It's been a while since I wrote these boys, but I felt inspired after Sebastian's recent comments about wanting to do a Broadway play with Chris, et voilà. There's nothing at all original about this, but if you like Evanstan and you've enjoyed some of my previous fics, you'll probably enjoy this one? More cake! I had so much fun writing these boys again, in any case ♥️

Summary:

Sebastian Stan wants to do a Broadway play with Chris Evans. He really, really wants to do a Broadway play with Chris Evans, preferably Speed-the-Plow.

Chris also wants to do a Broadway play with Sebastian, but not Speed-the-Plow. His counterproposal acts as a catalyst for some long-overdue revelations (and quite a lot of great sex, too).

We’re going to have to work on your evasion skills, so for the next five minutes, the floor is lava!” This was met by a sudden spike in both volume and pitch from the small children as they scrambled onto every raised surface they could find and immediately launched themselves right back off.

“I’ve never seen actual lava in my entire life,” Steve said, vaguely offended.

“You got a superhero impersonator for The Falcon’s niece’s birthday party,” Sam said, incredulous. “The Falcon, who is an actual superhero.”

This story was written almost entirely in a haze when a plot bunny hopped into our brain and refused to go away. It was supposed to be a part of our series Invisible String but there’s still a couple of (rather ambitious) instalments to go before we could get to this point in their lives. That being said, we think it works nicely as a standalone too and really just wanted to write something fluffy (not like we’re capable of writing much else for them) that showed little snippets of how the boys’ relationship evolved over the years.
