Steve/Bucky Anastasia!AU

Steve is one of several people employed by the ageing Dowager Romanov to track down her grandson after rumours of his survival began to surface. Believing entirely that the Prince Anastasius Yakov Buchanon Romanov was, indeed, dead, Steve goes about searching for a suitable double to provide some peace and happiness to the elderly woman in her twilight years. 

Enter Buck, an orphan with no ‘real’ name nor memories, a dirty bandage wrapped around one arm, and a hell of an attitude.   

Steve doesn’t quite know what to do with himself. 

“I’ve been gone just for two freaking hours, Steve!”

AU where Steve is rescued back from time, without the news reaching the ears of the organiz@tions/@gencies, and is laying low as he wants to spend the rest of his life as a civ!li@n with the love of his life. Bucky, however, since he had gone through the retirement process through the system’s channels, still needs to attend his c0urt ordered therapy sessions (though his anchor is right beside him now). Steve gets a new car, and he is struggling with the new technology of it, even got surprised when it started ‘talking to him and giving him directions’. Today, he missed his bae a little extra, who warned him to lay low for the two hours he’d be gone for therapy; so he goes to pick him up. This, here, is the two very old married men mildly bickering. (Also, they’d been fonduing like it’s puberty all over again; just thought I should throw in that info).

P.s. Imagine Bucky yelling 'You don’t tell us what to do! We are free men!“ when the GPS first gave them directions. *cries*
