#romance#listen i know that Courtly Love ™ is a much analyzed thing that has Layers and such#but i just gotta look at the YEARNING AND LOVE IT SOMETIMES#because what i love about this picture#is how it looks like both parties desperately want to be properly embracing#face to face arms really AROUND each other so they can kiss#but for some reason that we can’t see in the painting htis is impossible#neither the knight or the lady have turned their bodies physically away from their intended staircase paths#the knight isn’t craning his head any more to the right to see her face#and the lady is turning her face to the wall#and all they can snatch together is this brief desprate and infinitely tender moment LIKE I YEARN MY HOES I YEARN#you can imagine that they arranged it so carefully between themselves at some previous date#that they would pass each other on the stairs just for this brief moment#so the lady could hold her hand out and the knight could kiss it#the lady turning her face away for deniability#and the knight easily able to let her go and pretend it was just a chance brush#DARN STAR-CROSSED LOVE I’M WEAK Y'ALL ( @takiki16​ )

steve with his fingers stuffed in his ears during the war, because he couldn’t hear so good before the serum, and now he hears too good and it’s too much and—

—and then bucky is gently covering his ears with his own hands, not making steve move his fingers away. and he is sitting behind him, legs framing his body, letting him feel small again. safe. and steve thinks he could pass out from the sheer relief he feels

I have this scene in my head of Steve and the Commandos being in some kind of bomb shelter with a bunch of other soldiers. And even in the shelter the bombs are too loud for Steve and he wants to cover his ears, but he can't because he can't have Captain America looking like he's scared of bombs in front of other soldiers.

But then Bucky takes off his jacket and makes Steve lie down and covers his head with his jacket, so Steve can plug his ears without being seen. And it's okay because it will look like he's just trying to sleep and of course Captain America would be able to sleep through a bomb raid.

Disney has trademarked the names of a bunch of Norse gods.

This is not okay.

These gods do not belong to Disney. They do not belong to Marvel. They belong to themselves and themselves alone, along with all those who worship them as the deities they are.

Thor, Loki, Odin, etc., these gods were not thought up by anyone at Disney or Marvel.

Stan Lee knew how sacred these gods are to those who follow many different Pagan traditions, how sacred they are to Scandinavian cultures to whom they are so important.

My best friend follows the Norse gods. She will be so bloody offended when she finds out about this. These are her gods, this is her religion. These are the deities she worships, the gods she prays to, the traditions she follows. She enjoys the Marvel portrayals of these characters, but they are separate from the gods she believes in.

Disney is stepping on her religion in an effort to gain more and more money.

Stan Lee did not trademark these names. He understood their importance and their sacred meaning. He was respectful enough not to do this.

These names are not the intellectual property of anyone. Neither the original names in runes nor the anglicised names that are used in Marvel’s works.

They were around well before us (a whole ass millennium before us), and they will be around well after the greedy bastards who have decided to trademark religious symbols are dust.

It should be common sense and common courtesy not to trademark the names of religious figures, which all of these gods and goddesses are, even if you do not believe in them.
