Another Miranda, Flint and Death illustration that I made a while ago. Originally this was supposed to be a merge of the season 3 finale’s battleground and Flint’s earlier dreamscape but then I decided to make it a bit simpler to avoid too much clutter. Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

I haven't just been able to finish any of my wips for a while #working music was ''Losing My Religion'' (Gregorian version)#and ERA's Ameno #I wanted to combine the end of the season 3 battle and Flint and Miranda's farewell dreamscape #flint walking away from (his own) death again #and the gorgeus view of the forest when he decends it and all the dead red coats #but it was a bit too crowded so I made it simpler and more scarce #and this was supposed to be even more simplistic #but then this took a turn to burnt coal and metallic hues / sparkle or something #this is like... a third painting with the same motif I guess #although I have not yet shown the 2nd painting where he's standing on the Walrus' balcony #(the 1st one is ''The Journey Into The Dark'' you might remember)#this ended up being in-between of being too undetailed and blurry and on the other hand...not enough. I guess :)#btw. at some point the white shirt was hanging from a tree and in another one he was dragging it in his hand #but in the end I left it out entirely (and that's why he's still dressed in black here)

Black Sails Moomin AU - PART II. (Part I here).

I couldn’t resist doing more of these a couple of months ago and this has been sitting in my drafts since then and now I finally decided to post it. If you are not familiar with the Moomins and/or Black Sails, then this probably doesn’t make any sense, but anyway... Please, do not repost elsewhere :D

“I have a bad feeling about this...” - someone on board the Walrus probably at some point in s4.

@old-long-john had a great tag on that surfing grim reaper pic yesterday: ‘‘Black Sails S4 preview: James Flint’s visions of Death have progressed from ‘ominous’ to ‘truly alarming’ and it made me laugh and think about how the Death is now passionately following them...(oh nooo). So I did a little ink sketch + photoshop. I also realized afterwards that a boat would’ve been more dignified carrier rather than a.. trash raft. ¯\(ツ)/¯ Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

“A meeting with Death”, Inktober day 17.

The promt was “battle” but I wasn’t really thinking about it when painting this. At first it was just the thought of the contrast between the two figures (size difference and light shirt vs engulfing darkness). Then randomly wiping the wet ink for some dynamic moves. It started to look like a scythe and after a while, a back of a skull, so I continued it that way. The paper was really warped when I took the picture and then made a few fixes in photoshop (2nd pic). I also tested some filters for a more dramatic feeling (1st pic).

“Battle” actually fits this mood quite well in the end, though. More Black Sails doodles here (x). Please, do not repost elsewhere :)
