A fun thing about the children's comedy magical girl series Demon Girl Next Door (Machikado Mazoku) is that it is pretty much explicitly stated that the foxgirl character, Lico, who is mostly played for comic relief and works at a café, is a ancient huli-jing and has fought and killed several magical girls previously to the series beginning.
It's a very fun thing about how she's written. Most demons in the series are either sealed in magical spaces, or portrayed as pathetic weaklings that live in fear of the Light Clan.
Not so much Lico.
Her reaction to meeting magical girls isn't to run away, but to get battle ready. You can usually see her holding a leaf or a knife when first talking to them.
She maintains her typical happy-go-lucky demeanor when speaking with them mostly because she's confident that if things turn violent she'll be able to deal with them.
Because she's lived a long life, and she's done this dance before.
Lico is going to coach Momo into truly becoming the butch lesbian of Shamiko's dreams. SHE will be Shamiko's birthday present.
