Even superheroes need to relax every once in a while.
Last and First - 2013/2014 Edition
It’s tradition that on December 31st and January 1st I go out and buy my last toy of the old year and first toy of the new year. The usual results in past years have been action figures, but this year pickings were very slim at the local stores. I’ve also cut down on the number of different lines I collect, so I didn’t want to just get something to get something.
As luck would have it, the last Target store I went to Tuesday had one copy left of The Riddler Chase from the newer Lego Batman series. It’s the only way to get the Flash minifigure and while owning another Batman and Batmobile wasn’t high on my list, Batman has a new deco and the Batmobile is a pretty cool design. The Riddler is excellent, but his dragster seems I’ll fitting and is, in my opinion, the only weak part of the set.
New Years Day arrived and I remembered I had Toys R Us rewards to use by the 15th. As luck would have it, the only thing I could find that I really wanted was the Barrel Escape set from the Lego Hobbit series. It was also on sale for that day only. It comes with a hobbit, two dwarves, and two elves. There are kegs, wine bottles, barrels to send dwarves down the river to Lake Town in, a prison with a breakaway wall. It’s a whole lot of fun.
There you have it my last toy of 2013 and my first of 2014. Happy New Year!
Crime doesn’t take a vacation, even on New Years Eve, and neither does the Justice League.
