Star Rescue Team | Star Cats | TFC Toys | 2014 |

The idea of doing a “proper” review of this group is quite stressful to me. So, in the interest of my own mental health I will offer some commentary instead. Please bear with me as I ramble on.

As a display piece, the Star Rescue Team is pretty nifty. The individual bots are nice as are the alt modes, except the one that you can see the robot head behind the windshield. As a toy, however, this set fails spectacularly.

There are many parts that need to be filed down to function properly. So, have a file and nail clippers handy. The quality of the plastic is between Hasbro/Tomy and knock off. Also, the instructions are poor at best. You need a good amount of intuition to convert the team even using instructions. There are a number of accessories that just don’t seem to go anywhere and there’s no documentation (included or online) that helps.

I don’t completely regret this purchase. I really like these guys (and gals?). It feels like things were rushed and if more time was given in developing the Star Rescue Team these could’ve been phenomenal toys. As they are now, they’re just average. YMMV.

I've been in Canada for the past couple days, the Surrey/Vancouver area of British Columbia, so if anyone was wondering why the lack of posts that's why. I don't have a data plan for my iPhone, so I've had to rely on spotty, free wifi. As the pictures above suggest, I picked up a few things during my stay. I'll go into them more later. Can't wait to get home tomorrow.
