the face shape: they were so much more round and then suddenly they grew up and got the sharpest jawlines god has ever created.

the eyes: they had such soft almost innocent eyes and now they’ve got these evil freakin peepers

the hair: dazai looked like a wet dog and still looks like a wet dog (not that i’m complaining). but CHUUYA SIR??? he’s so diva Idk how else to say it. the old style was cute yeah but the growth frames his face so well he looks like a poet i love him.

they both matured so beautifully this animation is so good

I also wanted to bring this up because I feel like so many other anime have these time jumps and the characters have very little notable differences in their appearance or they look completely different like actual babies.

Of course the amount of time between makes a difference, for Dazai and Chuuya it’s 6-7 years give or take.

They look their proposed ages in both designs, but their individual flare and style remains unchanged. The contrast is just perfect.

I know it might not be anything to write home about and other animations have done just as well in this situation but I just needed to share my thoughts!
