Ok but can we talk about how Obi-wan literally straight up says "had you said the word, I would have left the jedi order" to Satine. I mean this is like A BIG THING this is literally him saying "I loved you so much I would have left the only life I know to stay with you" Obi-wan definitely saw himself marrying Satine and having a family with her, I mean leaving the Jedi is not a temporary thing it's like permanent yk? You don't leave the jedi with the intent of coming back, and jedi dont have jobs yk i dont even think they get paid. Obi-wan was raised at the temple, to be a jedi, he doesn't have a family, without the jedi he has nothing, and he was willing to give that up for Satine. It's obvious though that they've both moved on, there's no doubt they still have feelings for each other, but they're both mature now. The way I see it its kind like when you see an ex that you saw yourself marrying, and now those old feelings just kinda come back but it's different now because you both have a sense of duty. They clearly got in touch though after their reunion. during that episode where Padme and Satine are investigating the poison, we hear Satine say something about Obi-wan telling her about Padme's excursions as queen so they're obv besties (argue with the wall) Though I don't think they actively try to contact each other just for the purpose of catching up, I definitely think that they have a very comfortable relationship and greet each other when they're both on Coruscant or whatever and they have each others comms just for emergencies. I mean Obi-wan literally went against the council and ran to Mandalore the minute he heard Satines distress call after Master Yoda specifically told him not to go, and don't even start with how Satines first instinct when on the verge of death is to confess her love to Obi-wan, which happened twice by the way. That's why I love this couple so much, it's so beautifully tragic, A pacifist duchess of a warrior culture and a war general who was raised to be a peace keeper, a Jedi and a Mandalorian, A man who got a brother he never had, and a woman who lost the only sister she had, and it feels like their reunion has been building up to this moment .
What are the odds that these two would end up falling inlove. It's cruel and it's beautiful and it's sad but the galaxy sure was better because of them. They sacrificed their love for something bigger than themselves, and thus there is no greater love.
