i don’t care how pretentious this sounds: calling the mcu earth 616 is a fucking insult.
i don’t give a fuck, the mcu will never be earth 616
they’re so fucking bold for calling it that when every character is a bastardized version of their comic counterpart
screaming crying hitting throwing up /neg
I think the MCU establishing itself as 616, despite being nothing like comic canon, confirms my suspicions that adaptations are always unfairly treated as more canon than the actual source material.
Canon is no longer about the source material, now it’s just about which platform makes more money.
there’s such a huge disconnect between 616 wanda fans and mcu wanda fans and how we view her character and the stories she’s been in like…….. 616 wanda fans for years, YEARS, have been fighting for their lives defending her and insisting that she’s not a villain, not evil and then mcu fans come in and watch wandavision and the dr strange 2 trailer and they’re all saying shit like “well if wanda wants to be a villain i support her! 🤪🤪 house of m is her powerful girlboss moment!” its just absolute madness
happy halloween from zombie hawkeye
Yelena Belova, Sharon Carter, and Emma Frost.
Don’t get me wrong, it looks great, but what does Marvel have with putting all of their blonde women in white?
Can’t believe I forgot Sue Storm and Valeria Richards...
Do you think Captain America and Namor are friends like Erik and Charles were friends before Krakoa? in the sense one or the other whishes they could bring them to their way of thinking? I have read some meta about them no longer being as clase as they used to be when they were invaders and wanted to know you take on this.
Imo Steve and Namor have grown apart in recent years but the memory and nostalgia of their old friendship keeps them tied together.
Steve & Namor are worlds different from Charles & Erik (thank fuck) because while they might have their differences both never stoop to using kids as pawns in a game between the other, they face each other head on.
I feel like Steve in the recent years isn't allowed to be wrong when it comes to Namor, like Namor is a flawed character but everything he does, he does for the survival of his people. Steve seeks to protect everyone but his priority is humans, he says he cares for Atlanteans but in all their years in comics he has only helped Atlanteans a couple of times, other times he just uses them meanwhile Namor is expected to drop everything to help his surface friends at any time. I love Steve a lot but even I can admit that Steve is often held up as the gold standard for Moral Compass characters, and more often than not things always end up in his favor or he is written to be "right" even when he isn't.
Steve has a very black and white view on things and like most other surface heroes he doesn't see disrespecting and infringing on Atlantean's rights/customs/justice as something that's a big deal but if the opposite happened then the Atlanteans would be villainized.
I think Steve and Namor were much closer in the olden days, during the war they were brothers, perhaps it was the closest either of them had to a brother in their lives at that point.
These days their loyalties often clash and it feels less like a true friendship than it does Steve feeling he has to be the responsible one when Namor is being "reckless". Steve ends up being very preachy to Namor and it's irritating to me because Namor is a king, he has responsibilities Steve doesn't. He can't afford to stick to human laws/morals because it could cost him the lives of his people.
So while I think they are still friends, it's different from when they were younger.
The Lady Sif for @kiwimeringue! Combined her MCU and 616 looks for this one and had fun with it!

Everything about the Marvel Universe suddenly makes perfect sense.
redrew a scene from this panel
He never takes the helmet off even into the next scene where they both leave the avengers lmfao
Imagine if Victor and Wanda had married and thus making Tommy & Billy his step sons, Kristoff would have been the same age as them (before he was aged up) so he would have gotten step brothers. Also Pietro would have been his uncle and they would insult each other constantly at family dinners lmao
Stoppp it would have been so fun!!! Victor causing a galactic incident because he decided to give the shovel talk to Teddy on Billy's behalf. Victor hiring Tommy to just bother his enemies he's like 'Thomas go blow up something of the Hood's he's getting too above his station'. KRISTOFF HAVING 2 BROTHERS!!! Billy & Tommy love their new brother but like when he talking to Cassie they just standing there glaring at him in the background and Kristoff like 'actually she was my friend first'. KRISTOFF AND PIETRO THROWING HANDS AT THE DINNER TABLE!! Omg the ultimate team up tho: Billy, Tommy, Kristoff & Luna...
Kristoff and Pietro throwing hands 🤣🤣🤣
Yes! I love the idea of Victor and Kristoff being involved more with the Maximoffs!!!
I think if Pietro were a girl, fandom would not treat him being Magneto’s obviously least liked child as being a funny joke.
Yeah because abuse against men it’s funny or something.
Like yeah I laugh with some of the jokes but honestly I don’t feel like people really understand the relationship between those two, it’s beyond some funny lines to mock, Magneto has abused Pietro physically, psychologically and emotionally for years since their first interaction. Erik may love his children but that doesn’t matter if his actions are like that (I would include panels but I don’t have any in my phone).
I’ve seen people acting like Pietro’s resentment and distrust against his father is an exaggeration and I really believe that people is stuck with the most recent comics and doesn’t know a shit about Pietro. Magneto literally made him and his sister be his soldiers when they were teenagers, orphans teenagers that didn’t have another place to go, he abused them there knowing well they couldn’t leave! It’s canon the he made people attack them when they were sleeping as a way of “training” (they had orders to not harm them but the twins didn’t know that). He tried to use a teenager Wanda to seduce Namor and make him join his Brotherhood, Namor ended up rejecting him because he couldn’t stand someone being so shitty to his subordinates, specially a lady. Then when they left he kidnapped them and on panel physically abused Pietro, when we were in the arc that would reveal the twin’s parents to learn the truth he attacked Bova, the sweet cow lady that is a maternal figure for the Maximoff. After discovering the truth he didn’t become any better, taking Pietro to Genosha and then not giving a fuck when he was in mortal danger because he was a “bad son”.
During the House of M storyline Pietro went to him and begged for his help because Wanda was in danger and Erik did nothing! He fought against the heros for his damn cause uncountable times but to save his daughter his was a pussy? And when Pietro and Wanda gave the son of a bitch the perfect world he wanted and the truth was exposed Erik killed his own son! Why? Because the heros were blaming him for this bullshit! Erik killed Pietro for his reputation?!
And this is only the 616 universe, don’t make me start with canon AUs (like Ultimates or Noir) or the cartoons, where mostly the abuse is repeated, specially in context where Mags is the one that raised him.
Also I have to be honest I don’t feel Magneto is that better with Wanda or Lorna, it’s just his bullshit with Pietro is quite constant and more explored and usually more physical and direct, but he has been pretty shitty with his daughters too.
Sorry! This turned into a rant! I’m so sorry, I had a lot to say, oh my God! xD
Erik is a shitty father and you should say it. I know Magneto has had a redemption arc and is with the X-Men etc. but he still didn’t treat Pietro any better, in Avengers Academy you could see the psychological abuse Pietro had to have through as a teen when Erik shut him down by throwing everything in his face. Yes, I know Pietro isn’t a saint but if you trace back most of his motivations it has been to protect the only family he ever had, his sister, or it’s been to try and right the wrongs he did. Or Pietro had been insane.
Erik tries to cut off Pietro from involving himself in mutant affairs:
Avengers Academy #22
AU’s/Headcanons where Erik is a great dad and the Magnet Family are together is great and people can have fun with characters all they want, but actually the abuse Pietro has suffered from his father Fuck the Retcon goes beyond what happened to him as a teen, he still has issues today and Erik signals him out more than he does Wanda and Lorna.
Avengers vs x-men it’s a mess but nothing’s more funny than pietro seeing magneto in tv, running full speed at where his dad is, punching him in the face, and then magneto saying “at least tell me you haven’t dragged your sister into this” cutting straight to wanda sitting in the same living room watching tv like she doesn’t give a fuck
“Not today, fellas!”
Wanda: You can’t repress everything forever, Pietro.
Pietro: That’s quitter talk. And poppa didn’t raise a quitter.
…
Billy: You can’t repress everything forever, Tommy.
Tommy: Well not with that attitude.
