Memories (AU). Sharon visiting Aunt Peggy.
Well, that must be because of Steve's controversial ending, so they did the series non-canon to no one complain about Sousa and Steve erasing it. But it hurts Peggy as a character, so now she's just Steve's (boring) girlfriend.
I seriously hate that we had a show trying to flesh out Peggy’s character past knowing Steve from the war and then they fucked that up. And her whole character after CATFA was about moving on and telling Steve to do the same. And then we see him do that, and he still decides nah, fuck that, this is what he wants, with zero fucks given about Peggy.
You know what it should have been? Steve should have seen Peggy when he and Tony were in the 70s. And they should have had a moment then when Peggy tells Steve about her life, and how as important as he was to her, she still had a life that she loved after him. And his arc would finally be rounded out as the Man Out of Time would finally decide to plant himself in 2023. Then instead of aging out of the MCU, he could have retired and “lived on the moon” anyway. And leave room for future cameos that I’m sure Marvel is craving from the actor that they no longer can do. It’s a three hour movie, they have the time, and they could’ve cut out that useless therapy scene that was only written so the Russos could pat themselves on the back for being inclusive after Waititi was denied actual representation for his film. There were so many ways they could’ve handled this, but they chose the weirdest choices because they don’t write and direct movies, but movie moments. Peggy and Steve’s story in Endgame we’re just moments devoid of characters.

It really is mad they'd choose that ending for Steve after everything he's been through. They reduced him down to that"back in my day" boomer white men. All the progression he made for nothing just to appease some small group of fans...
He'd have more respect from me personally if they had him be the one to snap the gauntlet.
Questionable writing in Steve case and especially Peggy's, sad thing is the fandom will hail it as the best ending for the two characters for a long time.

This once again affirms my point that Marvel really never cared about Peggy and didn't intend she have any significance outside TFA.
They've basically tossed away their first token female heroine and only brought her back recently for cheap fan service that completely disrespected her character development.
So now that her show isn't canon it means her only real roles in the MCU were TFA and Endgame like her whole fucking "arc" is obliterated.
Compare that to what we have with Sharon...at least it's not this❗

I just love the fact that Peggy is a goddamned brawler canonically
She’s not a martial arts master like Natasha, she doesn’t have powers like Wanda
She just fucking hits people as hard as she fucking can
YES - and it’s consistent from the first time we see her in CATFA. She uses her environment and the tools to hand, she moves with confidence, and she fucking commits.
There’s a great character beat of hers that was in the CATFA script, but didn’t make it into the movie. As she’s telling Hodge to put his foot forward, she asks, “Are you familiar with the art of Jiu Jitsu?” When Hodge says no, she pastes him in the nose, then remarks, “Neither am I.”
The “commits” thing is probably why Hayley is accidentally connecting solidly with all the stunt people! Also falling out of trees. Er. Maybe it’s part commitment, part klutz. I can relate.
Bringing back a classic
My favorite was when she was threatening a guy with a butter knife in the automat.
“This knife is dull but I’m determined. Keep smiling.”
haha remember when peggy carter moved on after losing steve and saved the world like fifty times and fell in love with a hot as hell disabled vet with a heart of gold and went on to create SHIELD... then avengers endgame obliterated her entire arc and turned her into a voiceless love interest
I can’t believe the antis have the nerve to use “Bucky wouldn’t steal Steve’s girl” as an excuse to trash a possible Bucky/Sharon (or even Sam/Sharon) pairing.
You guys really want to go there? FINE. We’ll go there.
Sharon and Steve had one kiss in Civil War that you morons threw a bitchfit over, did everything you could to troll EVC to stop any pairing of Steve with anyone other than Bucky or Peggy, and NOW you’re referring to Sharon as “Steve’s girl”?!
SHARON IS NOT STEVE’S GIRL. He made that very clear when let her twist in the wind as fugitive while he went to go fuck her aunt in the past. She doesn’t owe him shit. She’s a free agent.
Also, “Bucky wouldn’t steal Steve’s girl”??? Are we talking about the same Bucky here? There’s literally a scene in Captain America: The First Avenger where Bucky is flirting with Peggy with Steve right there....
cannot stop thinking about how in steve & peggy’s last onscreen conversation together, peggy not only tells steve “I have lived a life. my only regret is you never got to live yours” but also and lowkey more importantly she says “the world has changed and none of us can go back. all we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do is start over.”
Anyone else remember this?
I'll never stop being salty, okay?
Never.
I'm accepting no arguments why this, when partnered with what actually happened in that shit show of an ending, isn't just really fucking sad.
