Imagine a wife swap with gods from different mythologies. Like the celtic gods and hellenic gods.

Zeus and Hera swapping with The Morrigan and Dagda. It would be chaos.

Hera going the the otherworld, dagda showing her around, holding a feast with the Tuatha de dannan to introduce her to them and Hera being suprised at how nicely he's treating her.

Meanwhile on Olympus Zeus is begging, on his knees, for her to give him his throne back. Within ten minutes The morrigan has started a civil war amoung the Olympians, 'taken care of' enemy roman gods and demanded that Hesita is now the Queen of Olympus and forced all of them to go to familey therapy.

Bitches be like: “The Greek gods were very complex. They were meant to be like humans in drastic proportions. Their bads were the worst, but their goods were also the best. They’re very morally complex characters. You can not say “Hades is evil, Ares is evil, Artemis is good, Athena is good.” That is because it’s not true, their grand characters can not be summarized in such small sentences. Zeus though, Zeus is a bitch. “

It’s me. I’m bitches.

Everyday I am mad that there is a not a Greek mythology show that’s in the format of The Office / Modern Family. DO YOU KNOW HOW GOOD THAT WOULD BE

Like c’mon. You’d have Hera and Zeus as the parents. And then you have all of Zeus’s kids. You’d have the younger gods, Hermes, Dionysus, Apollo and Artemis as the teenagers and then Ares, Athena, and Hephaestus as the young adults. And then you’d have the six kids of Kronos as the uncles and aunts. And Kronos is just this really annoying racist grandpa who thinks that Titans are better than gods. And Rhea divorced him years ago but they all still come to family reunions. Hermes annoys the heck out of Apollo (stole his cows when he was a baby in the myths). And Artemis only hangs out with Aunt Hestia and Athena. Hermes and Dionysus would be chaotic brothers. And Athena and Ares play brutal Monopoly/Risk games. And Aphrodite is the matchmaking MILF who married Hephaestus for his money but is actually sleeping with Ares. And everyone knows that Zeus cheats and Hera constantly tries to sabotage him and his kids. Maybe she constantly tries to murder him, but it never works or something-

BUT EITHER WAY I WANT IT. Like Hollywood makes a hundred terrible movies a year. Just scrap those and use the money make this. Please.

And it doesn’t even have to be set in modern day. You could do it in ancient times too. It doesn’t matter. Just make it. PLEASE I AM BEGGING

I hate how so many people seem to think Zeus is mean or cruel, when historically, Zeus is the keeper of one of THE most important parts of Hellenized religion: Xenia.

Xenia is the sacred rite of hospitality; both to the hosts, AND the guests. It was (and is) an ethical and religious obligation to be a good host and a good guest.

The host was expected to give good gifts and expect nothing in return, done simply because kindness and hospitality were expected.

The guest was expected not to abuse this; to not overstay, to not ask for anything too extreme, and to be gracious and kind.

Zeus is the god of hospitality, and therefore must be all these things; kind, quick to give, gracious. A good host and a good guest.

jason grace, son of jupiter ── and i think that’s what a father is— a blade that never stops cutting

heroes of olympus, rick riordan // dead poets society (1989) // grave digger, matt maeson // @gr33kg0ds on tumblr // the five people you meet in heaven, mitch albom // peter mcpoland x // let your father die energy drink

@eggplant-avenger over here writing tag essays to crush unsuspecting users’ hearts

Jason wasn’t his father’s son, but his mother’s. He’s her splitting image, holds her heart and wanted nothing more to grant glory and hope to those around him.

Jason at his heart was a healer, not the weapon the God’s wanted, what his father wanted.

And so he was another cast out and forgotten to time.

No wonder he’s introduced to us as the lost hero.

He was easily replaced by Percy at Camp Jupiter, easily forgotten by those he loved and taken away from every home he’s ever known.

Jason to his father was nothing more than a blade that dulled, useless to him in all that mattered to him.

Jason won’t be remembered because to his father he simply outlived his use, he was to die in the quest of the seven but he didn’t… This was just the fates getting what they missed, simple as that.

You’d think that pjo Zeus would be more willing to accept that Kronos is rising considering how paranoid he’s said to be. The guy doesn’t even have a personality. He’s just a plot device.

Rick: Zeus is super paranoid and constantly thinks people are out to get him

Rick: but also Zeus never once suspects anything up with Kronos and just assumes it’s BS until Artemis is legit kidnapped

Well someone displeased the sky gods didn’t they

My first thought was someone pleased the sky gods, because this is a SHOW.

That’s the problem with gods; their pleasure and their wrath often look the same.

why is this fire quote from a tumblr post

Because tumblr is the real world equivalent of infinite monkeys using typewriters eventually producing Shakespeare.

How do you think the gods reacted to Percy’s package? Like the Masterbolt has gone missing, the son of the suspected thief has just mailed a package to Olympus, and it turns out to be Medusa’s fucking head. Also, it’s the potential prophecy child who might be destined to save or destroy Olympus, and he mails them a head.

i know this is probably not what happened, but i think it’s so funny to think that the olympians—except zeus—found out about percy Existing when that package was mailed in.

athena: “what the fuck is this? ‘with best wishes, percy jackson?’”

poseidon: *laughs nervously* “uuhh idk. lol”

and then zeus like. explodes lmfao, which leads to a fight, especially when they all find out that percy is short for perseus. and perseus was not only medusa’s killer and a child of zeus but also means “destroyer.”

also athena especially has mixed feelings about him because on one side, he killed her nemesis while also saving her daughter, and on the other side, she knows for sure that he’s his father’s son because he sent them medusa’s head. what a little shit.

athena hoping annabeth stays away from him being like:

ranking the olympians (+hades) based on how likely they are to turn against zeus/olympus when the (second) demigod rebellion happens:

1. apollo. duh. his whole arc in toa is learning how corrupt olympus is and how much the demigods are currently suffering. also he calls zeus an abuser multiple times throughout the series and literally the whole main conflict of toa is standing up to and overthrowing an abusive father figure like. obviously apollo overthrowing zeus is the next step.

2. hera. at the end of ton she’s distraught about jason and (rightly) blames zeus, speaks against him and chews him out IN FRONT OF the whole olympian council. she could be motivated by jason’s death to turn against her husband, especially with urging from apollo. also, she’s gone behind zeus’ back before in hoo with the whole camp swap thing, so she already has a precedent of breaking zeus’ rules in order to (in her eyes) help the demigods. the only thing that might make this difficult for her is that, presumably, percy and annabeth would be leading the rebellion, and hera and annabeth’s relationship is uhhhhh. but i think for jason’s sake they could both bite their tongues and reluctantly work together.

3. dionysus. despite him being kind of an asshole in the earlier books, he’s now one of the most sympathetic gods. he has the most contact with demigods, and thus is exposed most to their suffering. he clearly has strong relationships with some demigods at camp, like pollux and nico, and he wouldn’t want to see them destroyed. also, he’s the only one who wasn’t born a god, which would both make him more sympathetic to the plight of the demigods (he used to be one) but also makes him kind of an outcast on olympus already. AND he was sentenced to an unfair punishment from zeus, which, although not as harsh as apollo’s, surely must make him a bit bitter against his father, and thus an easier target to convince to turn against him. he doesn’t personally like percy much, but by the end of pjo its clear that he has a grudging respect for him, so i don’t think his personal irritation with percy would be enough to deter him from joining the rebellion.

4. artemis. like apollo and dionysus, she has more contact with demigods than the other olympians through her hunt. however, while she definitely recognizes that the way zeus is running things is unfair (she expresses multiple times during toa that she thinks zeus’ punishment of apollo is too much and even defies his direct orders not to help apollo multiple times), i don’t think she would be very enthusiastic about straight up betraying him. she seems to prefer to keep to herself and keep out of olympian fights, even if she privately has an opinion on them. however, she clearly cares about apollo, and i think she would join the pro-rebellion to protect him, since defecting from olympus would definitely make him a target.

5. hermes. okay he was DEFINITELY more sympathetic to luke’s side during the titan war than he let on around the other olympians, right? like that whole part in tlo where he refers to luke as “my son, my greatest pride…” ;_; shut up i WILL cry. i feel like he would definitely be sympathetic to the rebellion’s cause, but i’m not sure if he would be brash enough to full-out join them. sort of like artemis, i feel like he prefers to lie low during these olympian fights, even if he does personally have a favorite side. i think that for luke he would be pro-rebellion, but also after seeing what happened to luke he might be hesitant to join them because he doesn’t want to see the same thing repeat itself. he would definitely be neutral at the start, but he could probably be convinced to join the rebellion once it looked like they were going to win.

6. hades. he hates zeus, but he also hates percy. what to do? i feel like he would join the pro-rebellion if nico and/or hazel yelled at him to, but he’s mostly just doing it for them, he doesn’t have a super big stake in this. so basically the same as how he acted in the titan war lmao.

7. hephaestus. similar to hades, i feel like he wouldn’t really care very much about this. maybe he would lean a bit more pro-rebellion because he’s been an outcast on olympus and would want that to change? but also if hera is allying with the rebellion that would probably drive him away from it because they clearly. don’t get along. i’m not sure! i feel like he’s mostly neutral but is a tad bit sympathetic to the rebellion– maybe not enough to act on it, but privately.

8. poseidon. while he would definitely not be pro-zeus, i have a hard time seeing him as pro-rebellion either. the only reason he would be pro-rebellion is obviously because percy is leading it, but even then, i think he would be pretty neutral. he doesn’t seem to care much about demigods besides percy and honestly seems pretty content with the status quo. maybe he would be pro-rebellion because he thinks he could seize more power in the power vacuum that overthrowing zeus would leave? but if he would ally with the rebellion it wouldn’t be “so we can have a non-corrupt olympus” it would probably be more like “so we can have the exact same olympus but i’m in charge this time”. so maybe he’ll help them, but i’m not sure if he’ll really agree with them.

9. aphrodite. this was the last one i wrote and i kept moving her around the list because honestly??? i have no idea how she would side. i feel like she would lean a bit pro-zeus because it seems like she likes to mess with the demigods and finds the dangerous quests they go on romantic and exciting (i’m thinking about that scene in moa where she tells annabeth how exciting her love life has been recently and annabeth nearly strangles her). if someone told her “okay you’re not allowed to send demigods on quests or pluck them out of nowhere and toss them across the country just for laughs or. really do anything to them at all” i think she would maybe be upset that they’re trying to ruin her fun. but that seems like kind of a weak motivation for something this big?? so idk i think she would be mostly neutral just like poseidon and hephaestus but she would lean pro-zeus (or anti-anti-rebellion).

10. demeter. she doesn’t seem to care about or even really like demigods, and she seems like someone who would be invested in tradition and “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. so i feel like she would be pro-zeus, just because this has been proven to work for the past two millennia, so why change it up now?

11. athena. she is pretty loyal to her father, and i think she would be very not confident in the ability of the demigods to govern themselves in the absence of olympus. she would assume that, with zeus/olympus gone, the demigods would just be snapped up by someone else looking for some malleable young minds to use as their pawns (like kronos), or just completely fall apart and have no cohesion. i feel like she would be pro-zeus just because she doesn’t buy what the rebellion is selling. like, WOULD it be better without zeus/olympus? what alternative are they proposing, exactly? what is their plan for what comes next? have they thought this through at all? also i think that the fact that percy is the one leading the rebellion would definitely undercut her confidence in it lmao, she’d be like “this dumbass really thinks he can come up with a better way of running things than the thing we’ve been doing for millennia? hm. no.” i would be inclined to say she would be more sympathetic to the rebellion because annabeth is co-leading it, but she disowned annabeth in hoo and they never really made up, so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

12. ares. idk bro i just feel like he would see the demigods complaining about their mistreatment and be like “stop being a bunch of whiny babies you brats”. also if percy is leading/co-leading the rebellion? anger. hate. rage. kill. no WAY is ares EVER going to side with that little punk

13. zeus. duh. he’s the one they’re trying to overthrow

that’s it! feel free to let me know if you disagree / if i missed something <3
