and to answer your question fhkshdks im sorry im bad at giving tips but personally i just made myself obsessed with particular characters and always drew them! and everytime i draw them i discover other ways on how i would want to paint them. experimenting is fun too :D just go with whatever ur brain tells u to and make something out of it, well first trys may not be perfect but that is how we improve! by learning something we like or how we should do a certain thing next time from observing our own outputs! :>
