Estrangement (15 Points) - FH Oneshot
Arthur and Ayda Aguefort, in the distant past, play a game of Fantasy Scrabble. Nobody wins.

Fanart prompt if anyone wants one: Aelwyn's fifteen cats staring up at the floating orb of water containing Garthy and Adaine the Fish as Aelwyn and Ayda work together in the Compass Points.
A quick little post-JY piece featuring our favorite Compass Points librarians and maybe some cats!
For the fic title game "Babel"
Ooh, I was actually thinking about an idea that I was maybe going to use as a bad idea of the day that would work for this one.
Do you know the concept of the library of Babel, a library of all possible books of 410 pages of the characters a-z, commas, periods, and spaces? I'm thinking a version of that, except it's Adaine and Ayda, and divination magic that can't give them the detailed technical answer for creating some hyperspecific spell they need, but they CAN once they get into the library of Babel dimension use divination to guide them to the location of the book they need... if they can get past all the crazed wizards who have tried similar things and gone mad.
Ask for other hypothetical fics by titles, these are fun!
I was HOPING to finish this fic by Valentine's Day but that's not gonna happen; this one's fighting me. Still, I want to at least share this preview (which a few people will have seen) and that I'm working on it and will post it Eventually.
It's after everything in Lunacy (my completed novel-length fic where Adaine becomes a werewolf when Jawbone bites her) but parts of the epilogue, as will become obvious, so spoiler warning for that fic.
Last time, we determined that Kristen was the most likely Bad Kid to be the first to die this season, never a bad bet. At least Fig has revivify these days.
Continuing on with our happy themes....
I'm not including Aelwyn/Fabian because I don't want this to be a 99% sweep, make a hard choice cowards
Given that the Ayda option is doing WAY better than I thought it would, I wrote up a quick little fic around that idea for you all:
Which came first?
A story involving chronomancy, Ayda, and Arthur.
Mind the tags for this fic, too, because they're always potentially in effect!
Aelwyn slips and falls; Ayda is there to catch her.
I think the only thing I need to put to sell this chapter to a lot of you is the title:
Interlude - Ayda Aguefort
Enjoy!
Will multiple fanarts of a fic get me to write a ten thousand word rambling mess of a sequel in about a week? The answer may surprise you!
In which Adaine accidentally sells her soul to the tiefling girl she summoned into her closet by mistake.
I got sent fanart of fiend-pacted Adaine from this fic by @tangerineblasttheintern and thank you so much! She looks adorable. I think this is when she's looking at some books, but it might also be her questioning some of her patron's decisions.
I got sent another picture for this fic, this one by discord user JuiceBox! Legitimately over the moon about these, thank both of you so much! This one is of some familiar sisterly cuddling and also rabbit ears. I LOVE the sharpened nails on this one.

The Bad Kids Badly Arrive at Leviathan. Ayda helps out, but not as much as one might hope.
I'm not planning on this being within the fic, but part of me wants to make Aelwyn an original spell also with the initials AFF to go with Ayda's Find Friendship and Adaine's Fierce Fangs.
The obvious would be Aelwyn's Force Field, which would just be a version of Shield at a higher level where you can cast it on other people instead of just yourself, but I'd probably want something more creative if I was actually going to do it. (I'm particularly fond of Ayda's Find Friendship)
