Tribeless. Problematic. Triggering. Faith is a cognitive sickness.

Muhammad was a pathological liar.

(I’d be tempted to leave it as mere delusion, if it wasn’t for all the blatant, calculated gaslighting inherent within Islamic doctrine.)

Well… when you consider historical symbolism, it’s easy to see where your… limited “artistic interpretation” came from.

“Tearing asunder” doesn’t imply an object is cut in half, and we are clearly dealing with people who possessed a certain perspective on the world due to their time.

From what I can glean, it can easily be an accounting of an event where a celestial object, like a meteor/comet/asteroid, was seen near the moon’s position before descending to either crash or cross the horizon towards the mountains.

Poetically, this can be conveyed by saying “it looked as if the moon was split a part, as a piece crossed the sky towards the mountains.”

TL;DR Don’t be a dick, you modern-centric simpleton.

This is pretty dishonest. You’ve just reinterpreted a core, literal Islamic claim, for a religion you don’t seem to even understand, for your personal comfort, not even theirs. That pointing out how absurd the entire notion is seems... “impolite.” Even though nobody in Islam is asking for your help.

Without this “miracle,” Muhammad loses a core “proof” of his prophethood. It’s supported by the (stupid) argument, from Islamic scholars that:

It has not been said of any people on the earth that the moon was observed that night such that it could be stated that it was not split.

That is, the defence is “you can’t prove it didn’t split” which is as sensible as “you can’t prove a unicorn didn’t create the universe.”

Here are Muslims working overtime with fallacious excuses to try to “prove” the entire myth did/could happen.

One of them cites gamma radiation and gravity... somehow. One points to an unremarkable channel on the surface of the moon.

Another simply insists Allah erased all evidence of it, and believers must have “faith” that it’s true. Some of them either deliberately or ignorantly presenting what they claim as positive evidence, while most of them hinge on the same “absence of evidence” claim.

The same epistemology allows us to propose that 1400 years ago the moon was made of cheese, which would make it easier to split, and was then melted back together with the heat of the sun. But now that cheese has gone moldy and become rock. And it has not been observed that this is incorrect.

I’ve been through two dozen articles about the topic and every single one of them treats it has having literally happened. That is, Muslims themselves don’t treat it as metaphorical or a misinterpretation of a more natural phenomenon. None of them crying “it’s a metaphor” or “out of context” as you are, in what amounts to you outright misrepresenting it.

Because, taking that excuse, what you’d actually be saying is that the quran, the inerrant word of Allah, is incorrect. That would be blasphemy, punishable by death.

These are the 16 English translations (and one transliteration) available at QuranX: https://quranx.com/54.1

Ultimately your lame apologetic doesn’t even matter, because either way - whether the claim is literal and false, or he took undeserved credit for a natural phenomenon - Muhammad was delusional or a liar.

TL;DR Don’t be a dick, you modern-centric simpleton.

The hilarity here is that the modern-centric position is coming entirely from you. You’re trying to change a literal miracle and massage it to make it fit a modern sensibility. And remove the miracle-ness entirely in the process. Mostly because you don’t understand its importance.

You know, just like you Xtians do with your bible scripture. You’ve modernised and diluted and gutted your god - whose name is literally Jealous - and your belief so it’s barely a shadow of its former blood-thirsty, tyrannical form, Like trying to modernize the bible’s instructions on owning other human people as property.

But Islam is not Xtianity. And a condescending excuse from a kafir that contradicts the ancient, dearly held beliefs of Muslims the world over reveals who the real simpleton is here.

I’m with the Muslims on this one: the quran is clear that the moon was split in two. An ancient belief held for 1400 years or so. We just disagree on whether or not this is completely fucking stupid. The simpleton’s uninformed opinion is kind of irrelevant.

TL;DR You wrong, kid. Sit down.
