Allah hath not assigned unto any man two hearts within his body, nor hath He made your wives whom ye declare (to be your mothers) your mothers, nor hath He made those whom ye claim (to be your sons) your sons. This is but a saying of your mouths. But Allah saith the truth and He showeth the way.
And when thou saidst unto him on whom Allah hath conferred favour and thou hast conferred favour: Keep thy wife to thyself, and fear Allah. And thou didst hide in thy mind that which Allah was to bring to light, and thou didst fear mankind whereas Allah hath a better right that thou shouldst fear Him. So when Zeyd had performed that necessary formality (of divorce) from her, We gave her unto thee in marriage, so that (henceforth) there may be no sin for believers in respect of wives of their adopted sons, when the latter have performed the necessary formality (of release) from them. The commandment of Allah must be fulfilled.
O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war, and the daughters of thine uncle on the father's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the father's side, and the daughters of thine uncle on the mother's side and the daughters of thine aunts on the mother's side who emigrated with thee, and a believing woman if she give herself unto the Prophet and the Prophet desire to ask her in marriage - a privilege for thee only, not for the (rest of) believers - We are Aware of that which We enjoined upon them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands possess - that thou mayst be free from blame, for Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.
O Ye who believe! Enter not the dwellings of the Prophet for a meal without waiting for the proper time, unless permission be granted you. But if ye are invited, enter, and, when your meal is ended, then disperse. Linger not for conversation. Lo! that would cause annoyance to the Prophet, and he would be shy of (asking) you (to go); but Allah is not shy of the truth. And when ye ask of them (the wives of the Prophet) anything, ask it of them from behind a curtain. That is purer for your hearts and for their hearts. And it is not for you to cause annoyance to the messenger of Allah, nor that ye should ever marry his wives after him. Lo! that in Allah's sight would be an enormity.
Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.

Islam is like if Toto pulled back the curtain to reveal the man pulling the levers, and when he says "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain," Dorothy says, "would you please be quiet, I'm trying to talk to the wizard."

"Muhammad is my nephew and I know him better than anyone and he is a liar so do not believe him."

Abu Lahab is one of the few explicitly named people in the quran. Surah al-Masad, aka Surah al-Lahab (surah 111) is only five ayahs long, but is entirely about him.

May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.

You may wonder how this came about.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: When the Verse:--'And warn your tribe of near-kindred, was revealed, the Prophet (ﷺ) ascended the Safa (mountain) and started calling, "O Bani Fihr! O Bani `Adi!" addressing various tribes of Quraish till they were assembled. Those who could not come themselves, sent their messengers to see what was there. Abu Lahab and other people from Quraish came and the Prophet (ﷺ) then said, "Suppose I told you that there is an (enemy) cavalry in the valley intending to attack you, would you believe me?" They said, "Yes, for we have not found you telling anything other than the truth." He then said, "I am a warner to you in face of a terrific punishment." Abu Lahab said (to the Prophet) "May your hands perish all this day. Is it for this purpose you have gathered us?" Then it was revealed: "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab (one of the Prophet's uncles), and perish he! His wealth and his children will not profit him...." (111.1-5)
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: One day the Prophet (ﷺ) ascended Safa mountain and said, "Oh Sabah! " All the Quraish gathered round him and said, "What is the matter?" He said, Look, if I told you that an enemy is going to attack you in the morning or in the evening, would you not believe me?" They said, "Yes, we will believe you." He said, "I am a warner to you in face of a terrible punishment." On that Abu Lahab said, "May you perish ! Is it for this thing that you have gathered us?" So Allah revealed: 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab!...' (111.1)
Narrated Ibn `Abbas.: Abu Lahab, may Allah curse him, once said to the Prophet (p.b.u.h), "Perish you all the day." Then the Divine Inspiration came: "Perish the hands of Abi Lahab! And perish he!" (111.1).
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: When the Verse:-- 'And warn your tribe of near kindred.' (26.214) was revealed. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went out, and when he had ascended As-Safa mountain, he shouted, "O Sabahah!" The people said, "Who is that?" "Then they gathered around him, whereupon he said, "Do you see? If I inform you that cavalrymen are proceeding up the side of this mountain, will you believe me?" They said, "We have never heard you telling a lie." Then he said, "I am a plain warner to you of a coming severe punishment." Abu Lahab said, "May you perish! You gathered us only for this reason?" Then Abu Lahab went away. So the "Surat:--ul--LAHAB" 'Perish the hands of Abu Lahab!' (111.1) was revealed.
It is reported on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that when this verse was revealed: " And warn thy nearest kindred" (and thy group of selected people among them) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set off till he climbed Safa' and called loudly: Be on your guard! They said: Who is it calling aloud? They said: Muhammad. They gathered round him, and he said: O sons of so and so, O sons of so and so, O sons of 'Abd Manaf, O sons of 'Abd al-Muttalib, and they gathered around him. He (the Apostle) said: If I were to inform you that there were horsemen emerging out of the foot of this mountain, would you believe me? They said: We have not experienced any lie from you. He said: Well, I am a warner to you before a severe torment. He (the narrator) said that Abu Lahab then said: Destruction to you! Is it for this you have gathered us? He (the Holy Prophet) then stood up, and this verse was revealed:" Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and he indeed perished" (cxi. 1). A'mash recited this to the end of the Sura.

This is "I'm rubber and you're glue..." Or perhaps the world's first diss track. Allah even gets in a dig about Lahab's wife being a former slave.

Don't forget though, that Islamic mythology insists that the quran is not being authored by Allah. It always existed, "uncreated," alongside Allah. So Muslims are obliged to believe that Surah al-Lahab existed before the universe itself existed.

Apparently Allah wasn't smart enough to warn Muhammad to steer clear of Lahab, who would make him look stupid. Nor was Allah even the more mature one, taking the high road and telling Muhammad that it doesn't matter what one minor human says about the prophet of the master and creator of the entire universe.

Things become more interesting and make much more sense given that Muhammad had been hoping Lahab, who was quite wealthy and influential, would fund and endorse his dawah, his mission to spread Islam and convert people. Suddenly this surah makes much more sense.

This is all just out there in the open. It's not a secret or forbidden knowledge. You're supposed to look at this and think, wow, Allah sure is great and wise.

O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet [and] if the Prophet wishes to marry her, [this is] only for you, excluding the [other] believers. We certainly know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands possess, [but this is for you] in order that there will be upon you no discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

Reminder: "those your right hand possesses" are sex slaves.

O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet except when you are permitted for a meal, without awaiting its readiness. But when you are invited, then enter; and when you have eaten, disperse without seeking to remain for conversation. Indeed, that [behavior] was troubling the Prophet, and he is shy of [dismissing] you. But Allah is not shy of the truth. And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not [conceivable or lawful] for you to harm the Messenger of Allah or to marry his wives after him, ever. Indeed, that would be in the sight of Allah an enormity.

Muhammad was obviously a liar and a con artist.

Narrated Anas:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) married Zainab, the people came and were offered a meal, and then they sat down (after finishing their meals) and started chatting. The Prophet (ﷺ) showed as if he wanted to get up, but they did not get up. When he noticed that, he got up, and some of the people also got up and went away, while some others kept on sitting. When the Prophet (ﷺ) returned to enter, he found the people still sitting, but then they got up and left. So I told the Prophet (ﷺ) of their departure and he came and went in. I intended to go in but the Prophet (ﷺ) put a screen between me and him, for Allah revealed:-- 'O you who believe! Enter not the Prophet's houses..' (33.53)
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
I of all the people know best this verse of Al-Hijab. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) married Zainab bint Jahsh she was with him in the house and he prepared a meal and invited the people (to it). They sat down (after finishing their meal) and started chatting. So the Prophet (ﷺ) went out and then returned several times while they were still sitting and talking. So Allah revealed the Verse: 'O you who believe! Enter not the Prophet's houses until leave is given to you for a meal, (and then) not (so early as) to wait for its preparation.....ask them from behind a screen.' (33.53) So the screen was set up and the people went away.

Muslims believe that this idiocy is divine knowledge that existed before the universe itself.

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
"Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by (my mother Um-Sulaim) he used to enter her and greet her. Anas further said: Once the Prophet (ﷺ) way a bridegroom during his marriage with Zainab, Um Sulaim said to me, "Let us give a gift to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." I said to her, "Do it." So she prepared Haisa (a sweet dish) made from dates, butter and dried yoghurt and she sent it with me to him. I took it to him and he said, "Put it down," and ordered me to call some men whom he named, and to invite whomever I would meet. I did what he ordered me to do, and when I returned, I found the house crowded with people and saw the Prophet (ﷺ) keeping his hand over the Haisa and saying over it whatever Allah wished (him to say). Then he called the men in batches of ten to eat of it, and he said to them, "Mention the Name of Allah, and each man should eat of the dish the nearest to him." When all of them had finished their meals, some of them left and a few remained there talking, over which I felt unhappy. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) went out towards the dwelling places (of his wives) and I too, went out after him and told him that those people had left. Then he returned and entered his dwelling place and let the curtains fall while I was in (his) dwelling place, and he was reciting the Verses:-- 'O you who believe! Enter not the Prophet's house until leave is given you for a meal, (and then) not (as early as) to what for its preparation. But when you are invited, enter, and when you have taken your meals, disperse without sitting for a talk. Verily such (behavior) annoys the Prophet; and he would be shy of (asking) you (to go), but Allah is not shy of (telling you) the Truth.' (33-53) Abu Uthman said: Anas said, "I served the Prophet for ten years."

This embarrassing story is repeated at least another four times in the sahih hadith.

Muhammad was annoyed that guests arrived too soon before the meal and stayed too long after, and got jealous when they talked to his wives, but had trapped himself in his own pretentious prophet bullshit, barely concealing the fact he was a small, petty man. So, “Allah” obediently solved the problem by telling people to eat and get out.

It’s also referred to as “The Verse of the Veil”; in that sense it refers to the curtain or screen that separates the wives from those who aren’t mahram - men they’re not related to - in order to alleviate Muhammad’s crippling insecurity and jealousy. As a result of this, devout Muslim households are typically also set up to separate women from any men who are not mahram.

For the same reason of his petty jealousy, no one is ever allowed to marry them after him. Probably not an altogether bad thing; one imagines after he finally met his maker (the one he made) they’d probably much rather be with each other.

Muslims are obligated to conclude that it’s more likely that this ayah existed in the eternal, uncreated word of the creator of the entire universe, before the universe and time itself, and was revealed just after Muhammad had needed it, than that Muhammad was solving his domestic issues with his Allah sock-puppet.

Narrated Aisha:
I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).' (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires."
Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that which thou hast to give them: and Allah knows (all) that is in your hearts: and Allah is All-Knowing, Most Forbearing.

“Allah” revealed a verse that allowed Muhammad - and Muhammad alone - to favor any wife he chooses, rather than being obliged to spend time with them equally. Aisha noticed this, particularly as it meant he would be crawling into her bed, since he obviously had a thing for her.

The uncreated, eternal, divine word of a god apparently has guidance to solve the domestic affairs of one temporal man - the same self-described prophet of the same god - in his favor.

And this isn’t even the only one. There are at least a dozen instances where “Allah” conveniently had a “revelation” waiting from the beginning of time itself - remember: the quran is supposedly as eternal as “Allah” - which corresponds to and addresses the needs and desires of one particular person... and his buddy.

Narrated `Aisha:
The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to go to Al-Manasi, a vast open place (near Baqi` at Medina) to answer the call of nature at night. `Umar used to say to the Prophet (ﷺ) "Let your wives be veiled," but Allah's Apostle did not do so. One night Sauda bint Zam`a the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) went out at `Isha' time and she was a tall lady. `Umar addressed her and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda." He said so, as he desired eagerly that the verses of Al-Hijab (the observing of veils by the Muslim women) may be revealed. So Allah revealed the verses of "Al-Hijab" (A complete body cover excluding the eyes).
Narrated `Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) `Umar bin Al-Khattab used to say to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) "Let your wives be veiled" But he did not do so. The wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) used to go out to answer the call of nature at night only at Al-Manasi.' Once Sauda, the daughter of Zam`a went out and she was a tall woman. `Umar bin Al-Khattab saw her while he was in a gathering, and said, "I have recognized you, O Sauda!" He (`Umar) said so as he was anxious for some Divine orders regarding the veil (the veiling of women.) So Allah revealed the Verse of veiling. (Al-Hijab; a complete body cover excluding the eyes). (See Hadith No. 148, Vol. 1)

Islam is completely up front about the scam that is Islam.

The eternal master and creator of the universe took a break from conveying his universal message for all of humanity, to provide instructions for visiting Uncle Mo’s house.

And Muslims think this is the most miraculous book in existence. Literary perfection. Literally, divine wisdom handed down from above.

The quran is absurd.

O prophet! Why do you prohibit what Allah has permitted for you, seeking to please your wives? Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Allah has mandated for you the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your Master. And He is the Knower, the Wise.
The Prophet had confided something to one of his wives. But when she disclosed it, and Allah made it known to him: he confirmed part of it, and he avoided another part. Then, when he informed her of it, she said, “Who informed you of this?” He said, “The Knower, the Aware informed me.”
If you repent to Allah, then your hearts have inclined. But if you collaborate against him, then Allah is his Protector, as are Gabriel and the righteous believers. In addition, the angels will support him.
Perhaps, if he divorces you, his Lord will give him in exchange wives better than you: submissive, believing, obedient, penitent, dedicated to worship, and given to wayfaring—previously married, or virgins.

The book of the eternal cosmic creator of the universe has a message for one man’s wives. All of whom are now dead.

Imagine reading this and still thinking it wasn’t the ravings of a deviant con artist.

When married to multiple “wives” (orphan girls or slave girls), Allah has commanded that the maximum number is four, and one is not supposed to play favorites. If you do take more than one wife, you’re supposed to spend equal time with all of them; this is Islam’s idea of “equality.” If you can’t commit to this, then take only one wife.

And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice].

Unless you’re Muhammad.

Because at a particular time when Muhammad’s “wives” were getting jealous and restless, Allah has, conveniently and miraculously, taken time out of managing the affairs of the infinite universe to chime in with special rules for a single person only, allowing him to marry as many wives as he wishes, and to have sex with whichever wife he wants (i.e. Aisha) even if it’s not her “turn."

And any that you desire of those [wives] from whom you had [temporarily] separated - there is no blame upon you [in returning her]. That is more suitable that they should be content and not grieve and that they should be satisfied with what you have given them - all of them. And Allah knows what is in your hearts. And ever is Allah Knowing and Forbearing.

This did not escape Aisha’s attention. She may have been a prepubescent child, but she was no fool. Even a little girl who still played with dolls saw through Muhammad’s scam.
