"The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species."
-- Christopher Hitchens, "God Is Not Great" (2007)
The Xian god of all creation is apparently hamstrung by primitive Jewish superstition.
The scapegoat was a goat that was designated "for absolute removal" (for symbolic removal of the people's sins with the literal removal of the goat), and outcast in the desert as part of the ceremonies of the Day of Atonement, that began during the Exodus with the original Tabernacle and continued through the times of the temples in Jerusalem.
Once a year, on Yom Kippur, the Cohen Gadol sacrificed a bull as a sin offering to atone for sins he may have committed unintentionally throughout the year. Subsequently he took two goats and presented them at the door of the tabernacle. Two goats were chosen by lot: one to be "for YHWH", which was offered as a blood sacrifice, and the other to be the scapegoat to be sent away into the wilderness and pushed down a steep ravine where it died. The blood of the slain goat was taken into the Holy of Holies behind the sacred veil and sprinkled on the mercy seat, the lid of the ark of the covenant. Later in the ceremonies of the day, the High Priest confessed the intentional sins of the Israelites to God placing them figuratively on the head of the other goat, the Azazel scapegoat, who would symbolically "take them away".

“This intention to protect Muslims from bigotry by obfuscating the reality of their beliefs and attitudes will not help anyone, least of which themselves. We cannot demand they enter the 21st century while refusing to admit that their ideology keeps them tied to the 7th.”
-- Muhammad Syed, Ex-Muslims of North America
The biggest victims of Islam are Muslims.
You can be honest and just say “IDK, magic?”
We know what you mean.
I have studied the ancient pagan faiths that came before this more recent obsession with a single, divine creator. They seem to have focused more on the fundamental forces at play in the world around us and less on arbitrary moral rules..
The sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening. The tides ebb and flow. Grass grows, withers, dies, and then in time, emerges from the ground once more. The air turns warm then cools and back again. Some hidden energy keeps us fitted to the ground and pulls us back when we attempt to leave it.
Each of these movements was represented before by a god or goddess. Each force given face, but recognized as something distinct and powerful. Which is not to say there were not connections between these forces - a pantheon of individual spirits - of rules. Invisible hands guiding the progress of the world around us.
And so here there was an attempt to categorize, study, explain, and understand the way things work - even if it was flawed. But no more. Now we are asked to succumb to a far more simplified explanation. How naive to believe there might be a single answer to every question. Every mystery. That there exists a lone divine light which rules over all. They say it is a light that brings truth and love. I say it is a light that blinds us - and forces us to stumble about in ignorance.
I long for the day when men turn away from invisible monsters and once more embrace a more rational view of the world. But these new religions are so convenient - and promise such terrible punishment should one reject them - I worry that fear shall keep us stuck to what is surely the greatest lie ever told. ~ Altair

GANDHINAGAR: Sale of cow urine has picked up in Gujarat as belief that it has immunity boosting property gains ground in the state amid the coronavirus outbreak. Vallabh Kathiria, chairman of Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog, told ET that consumption of goumutra (cow urine) and goumutra ark, or condensed cow urine, in the state has risen significantly after the coronavirus outbreak to about 6,000 litres a day. Cow urine has long been promoted by cow entrepreneurs as a panacea for a myriad of ailments. Last month a small group of people in Delhi held a cow urine drinking party to highlight these properties. In Gujarat, cow urine is not only being sold for oral consumption, but is also being used to manufacture body spray to keep the “malicious microbes” away, said Kathiria. Kathiria said that while a lot of people have been consuming fresh cow urine as a preventive against illnesses, there is also significant demand for the ark, which is used for both gargling and drinking. “Apart from improving digestion, goumutra strengthens the lymphocytes and is reach in antioxidants,” said Kathiria, an oncology surgeon who was also Union minister of state for health and family welfare. He said “use of cow urine kills bacteria and would definitely be helpful in fighting the coronavirus”. Kathiria, who was heading the state’s ‘Gau Seva Ayog’ earlier, pointed out that about 700 ml of ark is produced from 1 litre of cow urine. The other cow urine-based product being developed in the state is hand sanitiser. Raju Patel, who runs a cow shelter in Ahmedabad, confirmed the spurt in demand. He said that while he was making about 80 to 100 bottles of ark every month earlier, the demand has shot up to around 425 bottles. “We are also adding Tulsi, ginger and other herbs to ark to develop a potent combination to fight cough and cold,” he said, adding that he is now refusing to take more orders. Labhshankar Rajgore, a retired teacher and a cow activist from Shami in Patan district, said he had developed the first body spray based on cow urine back in 2007. “The spray is useful to keep the virus away along with many other harmful germs,” Rajgore said, adding that in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, he has also developed sanitisers based on cow urine. Rajgore said he produces around 50 bottles a day to meet demand from Ahmedabad, Patan and Mehsana districts. “The lockdown is delaying the supply. Normally it is taking couple of days for us to deliver the product,” he said. Kathiria of Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog said, “There are about 4,000 gaushalas in the state, of which around 500 are involved in collecting and processing cow urine.” He said that with the demand of cow urine on the rise, the gaushalas can easily become self-sustaining. Speaking to ET, Kantilal Patel, a retired engineer claimed to have benefited from using Cow Urine. “My wife had suffered from cancer and we used to get fresh cow urine for her to drink in the morning,” Patel told ET. “She had greatly benefitted from it,” he said. “Goumutra definitely has a lot of potentials to keep the virus at bay,” he added.
