All I have to say personally is that I know a lot of people who don’t believe in God. They haven’t been set on fire yet, so I don’t know what God you see. The God I know sent his only son to die for me, an action I cannot repay. I pray you find God’s love, it’s really amazing when you do find it.

Also, I think you just provided a really good argument against religion. Which is that every single person who wants to convince you of a magical, intangible, undetectable, fantastical, nonsensical, ridiculous wizard in the sky - who, like an unstable, deranged significant-other, is the only entity in all of existence who will ever truly love you - has a personal agenda that is all about them.

Including you. As you well demonstrated. And your agenda is no more legitimate than those you decry. And you have no more substantiation, no more grounds for proclaiming what your imaginary ghost wants than they do. They are exactly equivalent.

I can quote stories too. Good ones. With valid and profound ideas.

So, all you have to do now is prove your imaginary sky monster exists at all, as anything more than just the hazy scribblings in a book of inconsistent tales and fables written by anonymous people who weren’t there. Along with all the other storybook characters, for whom no extant physical evidence exists. Not even that this “Jebus” person existed or died on the torture device you worship and wear around your neck, as a grotesque symbol of death and the destruction of the world you’re so looking forward to. You know, any more than Ra, Odin, Zeus, Chang’e, Kahless and Quetzalcoatl - among the thousands of gods you don’t believe in - exist.

Because your quotes and my quotes share exactly equal footing. And if you can claim to know what it wants, then you can substantiate your claim by explaining your mechanism so that we can test, examine and evaluate it. Aka evidence.

If you can’t, then you’re conceding none of the above matters. It’s obfuscating blah, based on “faith” - an unfalsifiable delusion that does not bring truth or fact. We know this because every religious person has “faith” - faith in their god-claim and faith that you’re wrong. And there is literally nothing, no despicable act, no horrific thought, no grotesque deed, that cannot be justified by faith alone. I mean, it is, afterall, the justification for all the religious violence that plagues the world.

If there is no evidence, then you’re admitting your belief is unreasonable and unjustifiable. Yet you believe not just despite any evidence or reason to, but in spite of evidence to the contrary. You believe because you want to. You ignore the facts of the world around you - “faith,” based on wilful, venerated ignorance, exactly as the meme suggests, despite your protestations to the contrary.

By denying, decrying and refusing evidence, you literally prove the validity of the meme. You embody it entirely.

And thus there is also literally no difference between your “faith” and someone worshipping the invisible purple dragon, Zeus or the goblins in their shoes.

No, that’s just the threat and blackmail of what awaits people who see no reason to think your silly superstition is real. Basically, you can’t prove your claim until we’re both dead.

Therefore, if you live, then you know the Flying Spaghetti Monster. You’re just in denial. FSM trumps your god. FSM is not just love, but life itself. We only live through FSM. Just have faith.

Atheists, what are your favorite examples of “god’s love”? Maybe Jephthah and how the omniscient deity gleefully tricked him into killing his own daughter? Maybe when “god” describes the right way to conduct slavery, rather than abolishing it as he did eating lobster. Maybe the bit where “god” says that a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding night should be killed. Or when an anonymous dude was found picking up sticks, so “god” said to kill him. Or when “god” kills 42 children by sending two (female) bears to rip them to shreds because a baldy’s feelings got hurt and so summoned him for retribution, which “god” happily provided? Maybe when “god” brainwashed a pharaoh into a magical game of “anything you can do, I can do better” and then killed thousands of children as part of the game?

Maybe where “god” brags about creating evil, then blames humans for its propagation and his own refusal to kill the imaginary devil? Or, when he torments two child-like people for not having the knowledge - that he denied them - to know right from wrong? Maybe when this incompetent buffoon's plan to fix his mistakes (kill everyone with a flood - for which no evidence exists) fails, so he decides to torture himself to himself to placate himself for his own errors and forgive humanity for being what he made them in the first place... and then expect people to be grateful for it.

What about his invaluable contributions to football games, the acquisition of parking spots and the recovery of car keys... at the cost of 22,000 children’s lives each day? What about inventing malaria, smallpox and the Black Plague? Or just his long string of unwanted abortions throughout history, the single greatest abortion practitioner ever recorded? There’s so many good ones. I don’t think I could pick.

Thank goodness this despicable creature is just a fairytale myth, with no evidence it exists or even manifests in this world, or humanity would have to rise up an army to destroy it.

Let’s not let Xtians dishonestly hijack a post just because they don’t like what’s in it, regardless of how accurate it is, literally forcing themselves onto others, as the proselytizers do. Becoming exactly the kind of Xtian they claim not to be.

This “god” creature is an immoral genocidal, hypocritical, filicidal monster. The fact you worship it calls into question either your own judgement, or your own knowledge about your horrible, horrible superstitions.

Thank goodness it’s just a grotesque story, your sky villain cannot be found anywhere outside of its own storybook, and we understand the universe around us much better than these bronze-age myths describe. We know, for example, that a perfect god who needs to be worshipped cannot exist, by definition. An omniscient god who bestows free will cannot exist, by definition. An all-loving god who will punish you for eternity in a fiery pit for temporal slights cannot exist, by definition. These are self-refuting, self-canceling attributes.

Since it is statistically more likely than not that you have never read the bible all the way through, I definitely recommend that you do so. Fastest way to become an atheist I can think of.
