Peri Brown only exists when she's being watched.

Somewhat infamously, JNT made Peri as something for the dads to look at (paraphrased) rather than a character with motivations etc of her own. "Yeah," I said, putting more thought into her than he likely ever did, "it would be rough to be shunted from scene to scene with no idea of your purpose, reciting lines put into your head by something you can't even fathom, the power to stop anything happening to you completely removed from your hands."

ta-dah!

"Well struck, Thor. A little too well struck." "We did warn them, didn't we, sister?" "Yes, we did." "You should not have done that, Apate" Thor's voice was of stone, as cold as the ice about him. "Have I made you angry, Viking? Good. Anger is what I am goddess of --" Yet Apate was wrong. There was no rage to be heard there -- only a quiet, grim presentiment. This was an ill omen. Thor knew it in his bones. For what manner of trick would end the son in front of the mother's eyes? And what manner of trickster?

Twelve & Clara | Remember, Christina Rossetti

[id: the poem remember, by christina rossetti, interspersed with shots from doctor who of the twelfth doctor and clara oswald. "remember me when i am gone away," is followed by an image of clara oswald cupping the twelfth doctor's cheek. he smiles, sadly. "gone far away into the silent land;" is followed by clara breathing out black smoke as she dies. "when you can no more hold me by the hand," is followed by an image of clara and the doctor facing away from the camera, holding hands. "nor i half turn to go yet turning stay," is followed by clara holding onto the tardis's railing, as she calls danny pink. "remember me when no more day by day" is followed by clara hugging the doctor from behind, both of them smiling. "you tell me of our future that you plann'd:" is followed by the doctor and clara again embracing in the tardis. "only remember me; you understand" is followed by the doctor gripping a wall, in pain, as he climbs up a staircase in his confession dial. "it will be late to counsel then or pray." is followed by the doctor sitting in front of the azbantium wall separating him from his tardis. "yet if you should forget me for a while" is followed by the doctor and clara pressing down on a mind wipe device. "and afterwards remember, do not grieve:" is followed by a close-up of the doctor's face, as he forgets clara. "for if the darkness and corruption leave" is followed by the doctor and clara sitting in clara's diner, conversing. "a vestige of the thoughts that i once had," is followed by an image of clara, looking with curiosity at the doctor, who has forgotten her. "better by far you should forget and smile" is followed by an image of the painting of clara's face left on the doctor's tardis dissolving into the wind. the final line is, "than that you should remember and be sad." /end id]
