I have been out of the editing game for too long to do it myself but this song as the background music of an edit of Fifteen would go so hard.
Btw does anyone know which pronouns Nemo uses in German? The German commentator avoided using pronouns like the plague.
Edit: Their English wikipedia page mentions an interview that says they/them in English but no pronouns, just Nemo for German.
Oh so Eurovision actually has a backup trophy which is smart I guess.
Yeah I'll stand by it, if one of the three DACH countries wins, a joined aftershow is very awkward. Especially if you have the German commentator interview the contestants afterward. (He is "a bit" biased towards Germany)
Barbara Schöneberger is a hosting machine with a lot of experience but even she can't act away the awkward silence when she has to announce the result of Germany and Switzerland awarding Israel 12 points. (Austria gave them 10 and 12 to Croatia). She went over it pretty quickly and moved on.
I get why ORF, SRF and ARD/NDR decided to do their pre- and after-show together to safe money. But it is a bit awkward now that Switzerland won. Doesn't feel like it is properly celebrated, or maybe my memories from the 2010 German win have just become a bit too romantizied in my mind. I think if one of the three DACH countries is a main contender we should maybe join forces for the pre-show but split up again for the aftershow.
German TV reporting on the protests only after the show is an interesting choice.
Whenever someone speaks French at Eurovision, I just nod along. No idea whatever you said but sure, darling, whatever you said.
Pretty sure the German jury was bribed with IKEA gift cards. Can't explain the 12 points to Sweden in any other way.
Germany receiving points from the juries? What is happening this year?
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
Btw what happened to flowing dresses and wind machines in the last few years? I miss them. Everyone seems to wear skintight bodysuits now.
Great, I have We Will Rave stuck in my head. Thanks Austria.
How the fuck did Australia not make it through to the finale?
It's honestly no surprise Germany sucks so much at Eurovision when you know how the broadcaster treats the show. E.g. both semi-finales are not aired on ARD (first channel of the public broadcaster) or NDR (local public broadcaster which is responsible for the show on the German side) but on ONE, their digital only side channel that usually airs reruns of older TV shows and Doctor Who.
Just realized that today is Germany's national final for Eurovision 2024. It airing at 10pm instead of at prime time (8:15pm), already tells me enough of how ARD & NDR intend to support the winning artist (spoiler: not at all.)
I know the contest is more about having fun but sometimes I wish Eurovision had a small In Memoriam section like the Oscars to honor the legacy of the contest and those who make it even possible by writing and performing songs and hosting the contest.
