Happy International Don't Stab Your Best Friend Day!

Apologies for this being posted so late. IDSYBFD sneaked up on me this year like an elf on a rescue mission and I didn't remember about it until I saw all you wonderful people reblogging my previous years' posts. And then my tablet's stylus battery gave out five minutes into drawing, and right after I finished charging the stylus the tablet quit as well. We're lucky that I even managed to finish it before midnight in my current time zone.

I’ve been wanting to do something for @arlenianchronicles​’s DTIYS challenge.  I wasn’t sure which one I wanted to do, aka I wanted to do all of them, so I maaaay or may not have taken elements from each (mostly the ghost one though because you know I can never pass up an opportunity to use the ghost effect).  To be fair, she did say we were free to change up the poses and angles if we wanted, and I...definitely did that.

Here are some more 2017 drawings, these ones from a Silmarillion AU where everything is exactly the same except elves are just immortal hobbits.

I found out a couple of years later that I wasn’t the first person to have this idea but I still did come up with it on my own.

I also keep coming back to this AU for some reason.  So you’ll be seeing hobbit elves on this blog at least one more time...

May I interest you in some sketches from 2017?  That was the year I first read the Silmarillion (and other First Age stuff) so these are both relatively early designs (though not the earliest: note that Beleg has his li’l forelock).  And I’m trying to pad the queue here so that it lasts longer, so I might as well, right?
