Honestly the more I think about it, the more I find myself enjoying the idea of Jango being pro-Satine. He’s not active about it or anything, but he sees her in the news sometimes and goes “Oh, huh, she’s addressing the water table issue. Neat.”

Just. There’s no real canon on how Jango feels about politics after Galidraan, other than ‘the Jedi should suffer.’ Maybe he looks back on his experiences and goes “well, I got a lot of people killed for no reason. That sure was a wash.”

Maybe he decided Mando politics aren’t his circus anymore. Not his problem. She can deal with fixing the ecological disaster their generation inherited. Then she actually does and he’s very “oh. Huh. Would you look at that.”

He doesn’t care that much, but if asked, he vaguely approves of the general shape of what she’s doing.

I just really love the idea that everyone in-universe ASSUMES Jango would hate Satine, but he’s neutral-to-positive on her ecological programs and infrastructural developments. His main negativity is about her taste in men. She dated a Jedi. Absolutely tragic.

currently Feeling Things about the fact that jango’s armor isn’t silver by choice; when he was a member of the true mandalorians, he painted it to look like this

it’s only silver bc after his adoptive family was killed and he was sold into slavery, his armor was taken as a trophy and “””restored””” (i.e., stripped of paint and polished) by a wealthy collector. 

and yet, when he escaped slavery and took back his armor, he never bothered to paint it again. after this point, he also never reclaimed his title as mand’alor, never tried to regather the true mandalorians, and became more and more isolated from his people. it’s as if, in the same way his armor was stripped of the color and meaning he’d given it, jango too was stripped of his sense of identity and belonging as a mandalorian. as if he never again felt worthy of being that person again, or even appearing to be him, so he chose to keep his armor —and by extension himself—as a blank slate.

(also interesting that, upon inheriting his father’s armor, boba repainted it to recreate jango’s original design. maybe jango never saw himself as worthy after galidraan but his son sure did)

after jango died, boba's krayts claw child armor had the same black and red design as jango's armor after jaster died. when he grew up, he painted his actual armor the same as jango's original design, with the addition of the little clan mereel insignia on the breastplate. and then he fell in the sarlacc and the acid destroyed most of his paint, but instead of leaving it silver like jango, he repainted it while going to rescue grogu, during the first point where his life decisions (making friends, helping said friends, settling down on tatooine with said friends) really diverged from jango's.
